Afshin Esmaeilzadeh being tested by Benfica

The 21-year old and former Persepolis man will train with the Lisbon-based club, and will have his performance assessed by the coaching and technical staff. He will be training with Benfica’s B team.
Tadeu Martins, Esmaeilzadeh’s Portugal-based agent, was able to help land Esmaeilzadeh the opportunity to impress one of Portugal’s top clubs.
Esmaeilzadeh was the captain of Iran’s u-16 side that won the AFC u-16 Championships. He is currently on loan at the Segunda Liga’s S.C. Beira-Mar.
