Tasnim – STOCKHOLM, Iranian national team Captain Jadavd Nekounam said he wants to continue his career.

The veteran midfielder had previously said that he will announce his retirement at the end of the friendly match against Sweden.

Nekounam scored Iran’s first goal against Chile on Thursday and became the most capped Iran player, surpassing Ali Daei’s 149-cap record.

“I have no plans of retiring at the moment,” Nekounam told the reporters at training ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Sweden.
