It is always said that a victory has many owners and a loss has non.
But this time, our failure has made many people owners of our football.
Tarbiyat Badani is now in full control and feels delighted because the Federation that they hated so much, has failed.
Also, Iranian coaches whose date of expiry has long passed now claim that they should be the next coach of TM.
Last Midnight on Channel 3, I saw a program which told me everything I needed to know about the short term future of our football. 3 "experts" including Mayeli Kohan, Head Of Jahan Football, and some other guy who I doubt had more knowledge about football than my grandma, and 2 TV hosts started attacking TM, Branko, Daie, Dadkan, Karimi, Zandi and every single person involved in our Football in the past 3 years.
They were unfair, subjective and nobody from the IFF was present to defend themselves on national television watched by Millions of people. They came up with all sorts of conspiracy theories about TM and it's players and started praising traditional Iranian coaches and attacked foreign coaches.
I am a critic of TM, Branko and IFF but I was stunned to see people like THEM attacking TM so unfairly. People like Mayeli Kohan who themselves have failed time and time again since 1996. I had never seen Daie being attacked like this directly on National TV (although I have to say, they were right about Daie) They talked about his influence on our football, his economic contracts with IFF and etc. I wish you could all see that program because It made my blood boil. Criticising TM and IFF is fine, their performance must be analyzed and a change IS necessary, but stepping on them to get yourself in place of them is disgusting.
To me, this meant only one thing. The people who are in charge of Iran right now (the neo-conservatives led by Ahmadinejad) have a very bad habit. When they take over something, they humiliate whoever who has been working there before, and destroy all the works previously done by the previous administration. That is why many many people resigned from governmental positions, the moment Ahmadinejad was chosen as the president.
IFF is no exception. Now its the chance for Tarbiyat Badani and Ali Abadi to do their thing. Our football is like a dying corpse in the middle of a desert and many wild animals are attacking its flesh.
Mark My words. We will not see a world class coach in TM for now. Mayeli Kohan or the likes will become the coach. A gang from Sepah, chosen by Ali Abadi will take over the IFF. People who will be in charge will only focus on cultural and religious issues of the players. And criticizing TM will become forbidden.
btw, about Ali Abadi. Let me just say this much: He has not had a single minute of experience in Sport Administraion and Management before he became the number one sport person of this country. Expect the same for IFF. Expect the repeat of the experience we had in Asian Cup 2000 and In Early 90s.
