Players that DO NOT belong in TM....

I liked the Shargh article about this exact topic, so I wanted to start a topic here about it. Here is my list of players that DO NOT belong in our beloved TM.

    Feel free to contribute

    1) Mahmoud Fekri - Nothing against his football, but his age is WAY too old to be in our new and young TM. What is he now, 35? What place does he have in a TM that is preparing for WC 2010 and even beyond? He has 1 year of football left in him, if even that.

    2) Mehrzad Madanchi - This guy has no place in TM, lets be honest here. He has done nothing but under-peform for TM time after time. He had a international stage to shine on during the WC, but he failed. I like footballers who play with their HEAD and their BRAIN, and this guy, knows nothing about intelligent football, he just puts his head down and runs like hell.

    3) AliReza NikbakhtVahedi - Im so sorry to say this, but Nikbakht is done. I dont know what happened to this guy, as in WCQ2002 he was one of TM's best players. But he has fallen off, and fallen off big time.....He is over-weight, slow, and doesnt have the killer instinct and hunger he did in 2001.

    4) Rasoul Khatibi - Need I say anything? I just dont understand why this guy gets chance after chance for TM. He has under-performed every single game he has played for TM, but he still gets called up, and he still starts. Why is even playing football?

As for the other players Shargh mentioned: Kazemian, I still think he deserves a few more call ups, he has the potential to be deadly as a sub in the 70th minute when the opposing defense is tired and he is fresh. Enayati: Give him 2 more starts, if he doesnt score, cross him off. He wasnt that bad agaisnt Syria, he wasnt good, but he wasnt bad, but I think he is a natural goal scorer who has a nose for the goal, and thats what we need in TM.

    fekri is fine
I dont know why many ppl are targetting him, since he hasnt really had such bad performances in his 2 games, like niki or madanchi or khatibi.

those 3 are totally out of form, and right now, they dont deserve to play.
but fekri brings in some experience to the back line.
and so far he hasnt had such huge mistakes for me to say he doesnt belong.

I'd like to see more of shoja'ee ( even at the cost of mobaali - since Iman while doing ok, is not at the top of his form. ) and Mani'ee.

I would keep Madanchi definitly, he is a descent player and given time he can help our left midfield alot.

I would get rid of Fekri, Mobali and Khatibi as they have shown they cannot contribute at this stage. Maybe they will get better later, but now...

I don't like Enayati's attitude, it is destructive for TM, but he is a good striker that can act as a good sub to Vahid

I agree with basically all of them except for Madanchi. Whether he should start or not is a different question but he should definitely be picked since he's one of the only viable options for the left. But I do agree that he doesn't play with his head this annoys me so much since he gives a way a lot of fouls and wastes good chances.

First of all lets not forget, a TM player is a player with TM character. We do have some good players in IPL who do not have TM character both in their attitude and in their skill.

Here is the latest GN List:

          Aghili
          Nosrati
          Shakoori
          Nikbakht
          Madanchi
          Kazemi
          Rajabzadeh
          Akbarpour
          Gholami Mohammad
          Hosseini Jalal
          Khorsandi Ehsan
          Heidari Khosrow
          Akbari Jalal
          Mahani Hossein
          Zare Maziar
          Noori Milad
          Fooladi Mehrdad
          Mahdavikia
          Karimi
          Hashemian
          Majidi
          Kaebi
          Shojaee
          Rezaei
          Nekounam
          Teymourian
          Enayati
          Mobali
          Kazemian

          -------------------------------

1-It is Obvious that again, GN is not a fair coach when it comes to player selections. This is obvious with not selecting Zandi. Whether he has personal problems with Zandi or the new IFF has ordered his isolation is unknown (though the second assumption seems more valid)

2-The most disapointing selection of GN is Kazemi. GN is also under great pressure for insisting on him. Kazemi is at best a second rate IPL player and nothing more.

3-Nikbakht. He is a joke for a football player and is at his worst ever form. Not even deserves to play as a starter in Perspolis.

4-Fekri. The gnardnpa. A player who defends with IPL standards. His playmaking is awful and is also slow.

It is good to see that GN dismissed many IPL players but choosing players like Khorsandi, Gholami, Akbari, Fooladi who are yet to prove themselves even as hot-talents are questionable to say the least in a vital match like Iran-Korea (eventhough it is obvious they wont get any playing time)

The good points in his player selection are inviting Oladi, Majidi (who I believe are the ideal forward lineup in the absence of Enayati and Hashemian)Hosseini and Heydari (who are again, the fuure of our defense)

Eventhough GN is at a loss with the task of player-selection, the more important problem is the TM tactics, something which is surely going to be ALI ASGHARI looking at the net knowledge of the TM bench.

          God save us

I agree with all four...i wouldn't actually mind ma'adanchi as a back-up to a more ready left winger (manei seems to be the other big choice) at the time being...

for me, what really hurts is the EXCLUSION of deserving players rather than the inclusion of undeserving players...

for example, shojaei and zandi should most definitely be in the squad and i have NO clue why they were not picked...were there any comments on any of this?

            ------------------------------------------------------------------------

            by the way,

            Kazemi
            shakouri

these 2 should also pack their bags...

TM is getting a lil ridiculous with these call-ups...i dunno what to make of this

What about his age DD jan? He is 35 now...and this is a TM that is trying to prepare for WC2010, what will he be, 39 by then? We have no need for his services in TM

faraz jan, shakouri was excellent against UAE.
we shdnt kick a player out based on one game only !
however, we can replace him with kaabi.

kazemi, too, had a very good game against UAE.
and we cant judge him against syria, for so many reasons:
first of all there was already two more def mids in the team. bringing another ( third ) def mid will cause more chaos and confusion ( no wonder they scored after that ).
this shd not be blamed on kazemi, but on GN for his horrible subbing.

based on the last 2 games, I dont see why you deem kazemi as unworthy of being in the list of 24.

                --------------

hadi jan, just as I suspected, GN is bearing a grudge against branko and his system, hence leaving the likes of zandi out.
while I dont know what kind of form zandi is ( being out of form and club and practice, and all ) , I agree GN's selection is not entirely based on technical abilities of the players.

for example, a left footer who is far better than madanchi and niki and zandi, is left out to make way for these two out of form players .
Mani'ee would have been the logical inclusion, especially after dysmal performance of niki and madanchi against syria .

also, the team shd not be without a few experienced players.
so grandpa or not, we need one , and better this grandpa be used in defense than middle or offense.

                -------------

                kasra jan,
before we judge one, we must consider the circumstances.
GN is NOT in a position to think about far future like WC 2010.
he is unlucky enough to be saddled with the duty while TM has no time and 3 major games at hand!

so I totally understand his philosophy of using players mainly for the immediate future and get the job done.
when these 3 immediate games are done, then I am sure we can ask for proper "investments".

                right now?
                it's suicidal and impossible.

with Shakouri, i watched the Syria game and saw NOTHING, meanwhile we have many others sitting on the bench who could do much more than losing the ball several times and not being able to control anything that came his way.

with Kazemi, he is nowhere near the class required for TM. TM is slowly becoming a house league team.

fekri wont help us in WC2010 true, but he can halp us now, better than anyone else that too in my opinion.

while we plan for the future, we should make sure we ignore our present.
we use fekri at the moment because he is arguably the best candidate for us in the sweeper position right now. he hasnt had any weak performances either. so i dont see a problem right now.

wc2010 is 4 years away, until then, god knows wat will happen.if we continue with this 3 men defence, inshalla we will find a repalcement for him in the next 4 years, and if we switch back to a 4 back system, then we dont even have to worry about fekri because he doesnt play 4 back system.

so far, fekri has been one of our most solid players. so not only i dont see any disadvantage but rather an advantage in using him.

in my opinion kazemi has improved a lot and will mature even more if he plays in these games.

he is young yet a bully, if u notice he wins most of the fights and 1 on 1 battles with his opponent, and this is a very huge advantage for a defensive midfielder. unfortunately, we have 2 other young talented DM and i just hope kazemi doesnt burn away because of this.

he had one of his best games against UAE and against syria, he didnt have enough time to be judged.
besides, like doctor doom said, there were 2 other defensive midfielders and one offensive midfielder which makes it confusing not only for kazemi but for our other midfielders like nekounam, mobali and teymourian too.

i dont like the idea but judging at our amazing talented midfield and our lack lustre forwards, im beginning to get interested in a 3-6-1 or a 4-5-1 formation and see how it will work out, specially against superior teams like portugal or mexico or something where we need to close down the midfield

                        Fekri is better than who???

Golmohamadi, Bakhtiyarizadeh and Hosseini are way better than him.

golmohammadi and bakhtiyarizadeh have both retired otherwise sohrab was our best option.

hosseini i dunno if he plays sweeper or not in his club, but i would rather have an experieced defender like sohrab, fekri or yahya as a sweeper specially infront of a young goalkeeper like talebloo and between 2 other young defenders like shakouri and sadeghi.

i think jalal hosseini should play either on the right of fekri or on the left, just like shakouri and sadeghi.
the sweeper position is usually played by a very expereinced defender because it is the heart of the defense and when the GK and the other 2 defenders are inexperienced too, it can cause a disaster!
