Out of all the players under 20 years old in the IPL...

Who do you think has the most potential to be a star? (other than kaebi of course, if he is still under 20)
and when do you think that this player can make the TM roster? Is there room for him in the immediate future?

Perhaps, someone from this list. Most of these under 20 players already play in IPL, and few have been nominated even for Omid team.

With out a doubt, it is Mohammad Pourmandi. Not too many people have heard about this kid. He is 16 years old and he has an outstanding passing and vision, very nice shot, amazing first touch, dribbling and heading abilities. He usually plays center midfield.

He will play for either Celtic's B team or an IPL team very soon. Remember his name boyz because in a couple of years he will be like no other.
Where did u get celtic from bro ?

But i wud say Charmahali who is 16 years old played a few times for Foolad last season and even scored and this season has a biiig season ahead of him

I belive he is indeed the player to watch out for.....Charmahali..

Shahab is very talented and popular player . He was Star of U17 during 2003-4 seasons, but since then has not been as noticeable.
He made it to U19 last year and barely made it to the list in early 2006, but he did not make it for U19 September list. Unless he gets a chance to play in IPL, he will fade away. ( PFDC*more on Shahab*)
                    Good luck to him.

It would be funny to see Mehrdad Pouladi and Mehrad Oladi in Team Melli. These two players have almost the same exact name, are both about the same age and are very talented.

Its sad that we see every year players like Yanpi and then we never hear about them. Imagine if some of these players were sent to Ajax or any other team with good coaching and facilities. Its just sad because some of them have only used about 10% of their playing abilities.

^ Farhad jaan, sometimes it is also because of the physique in case of youth players. For instance, in this case, Yanpi is a short and small player. He doesn't have technique but is a good scorer (for his age). He is a bit fast but that is about it. When he is playing along with 15-16 year olds, most of them are yet to reach full potentials and he can shine. But after that, if he is small like Yanpi is, and does not have something VERY extra ordinary like technique or speed, then he would get lost in the shuffle and remains average or even maybe good, but not good enough for top 20-40 player of the country.

But I also agree that we lose a lot of prospects and talents due to lack of proper facilities and coaching

There are a long list of young "unknown" and talented players who could become household names in the next 10 years. Unfortunately, most of them will be wasted (due to poor management among other things). I guess the survival of the fittest (and the lucky) really applies here.

those players who don't forget about Education, will be most successful in the long run.

I agree in the main part with what you say but I have to say that being a good finisher is also sometimes sufficient to make it in professional football (look at the young Robbie Fowler when he broke through at Liverpool - small, not particularly quick, weak physically but a decent touch and excellent finishing).

Granted, Fowler never fulfilled his early potential but I think that was due to injury (and drugs?) Let's hope Yanpi continues his early scoring form well into his twenties.
