    Islamic republic's Sport industrial complex

Any one who has traveleved to Iran in recent years, would notice a major poletical Investment, islamic Republic has done in sports......
The TV in Iran, has practicaly nothing to see, either, reading GORAN or propoganda news, or Sport !!....by sport, I mean, major sport.....There is 50% time share of TV time for sport......programs from, secound league handball, to sharestan waterpolo turnement, to badmington team sent to international competitions, arching, shooting, even baseball.......
There is not a single sport that has not been invested.....as we also noticed during Duha games, most iranian coaches ,even for rowing, were forign coaches....
As far as football is concerened,...TV shows club of Clumbia, to spain, france, All over European games......IRIB even shows american NBA bascketball games.....
These are not exaduration, and it is only small part of what is going on....
    And result ????
Major failer in the OLYMPICS, ...and the rank of 14 th among Asian countries....behind countries, with one tenth the population......
AS you all may see.......Backward system, and poletics, would also fail in sport...............
The begining ceremoney in QATAR was magnificent, as thier country is rapidly growing, in many areanas..such as Economy, and poletics.....with Aljazira TV and poletical freedom recently stablished in Gulf countries...it is just mater of time, that our National Football team would loose to QATAR and UAE.....
    .............
Iranian football...would Ultimately flourish, when this system is gone.and not before

First please it's Persian Gulf, secondly it also needs time for sports to grow and investments usually pay off in the long run.

OK, Persian Gulf.,and not just Gulf,,,,..I stand Corrected.........
Apparantly, thier investments, take less time to grow........
The assumption,of IRI ,is that to keep youth bussy, and has no intention of improveing people's life....hence, young people would never put thier heart in to it, as there are lot more unfulfield aspects in thier lives......only, they may take football more seriously, and that is only because,it is an avenue to get the hell out ! ....
Although, there is Arab bashing in our culture, but between all our nighbores, even compair to Turkey.....the countries in south of " PERSIAN GULF "....are heading in the right direction.

I stay unimpressed by the arab neighbors of Persian Gulf. They might spend money and have the nicest stadiums, but the content of their national team is still little compared to the Asian big countries.

Look at Kuwait for example, they tried, but they missed. UAE the same, it has been longitme that they are trying (even made it to a World Cup competition), but nobody fears them. Jordan came up and fell.

My point is that, they do not have the historical potential in this sport.

Niether did saudi's..or bahrain.....but, they have improved immensely....
And as Qatar, UAE,and Oman are concerned, they have jumped up very nicely in recent years......
I do see, in near future, the western-Asian team get ahead of eastern-asians.
I am sure, japan and South Korea, and China, have noticed.......
The persian Gulf countries, are not there yet....but, they are improveing at a faster rate.

Sport is a unique medium through which the IR Government isn't presented to people e.g. In football when we see our players vs. Portugal at the WC the millions of the people watching have no idea about Iran and its goverment's policies etc and just see great football.

zzgloo can you please stop doing this whole ................ or ,,,,,,,,, or ??????? thing please it gets annoying after a while.
