zz jan, AT the WC, HE WILL be our topmost concern.

as it is going to be HIS inexperienced mentality ruling the team's.

HIS deficient methods dictating the way we will play.

HIS fears and shortcomings that will handicap our team.

HIS inabilities and insecurities ( thus having an extremely INFERIOR staff ) that will
hamper any hope we may have to actually DO something worthwhile.

he , unfortunately, is an obstacle for us now.
he may have been good . but he has clearly run out of steam and ideas.
to persist with him just becoz 2-3 yrs back he did something is plain absurd.
    My Dear Doctor DOOM
We know, Branko not only was not such a big deal to start with, but also he has, been shrinking in Ideas, and showing very little worthy performances lately, and more over, I personaly believe, that he has developed a dislike of our culture,as well, which makes the situation even worse.....
But, I have a quetion for you.....
what should we as fans do, if, as it seems, he is to stay with TM during the world cup ?....

          lol

zz jan, you ask what shd we , the fans , do?
and I said make sure he doesnt stay till the WC.

now, what if dadkan is THAT foolish to retain a failing coach?
          I dont know.
I guess we just have to start praying at least our lads' gheyrat and taasob would compensate for the severe lacks in guts and tactics and teamwork, and bad player selection, and deficient left defense, and deficient left wing, and weak offense and even weaker offensive strategies, and weak GK and ......... phew... let me catch by breath, ..... and horrible & below par staff and terrible preparation and lack of any serious test and lack of exposure for many players, and ..... pant-pant ..... and inexperienced subs , and .....

sorry . am out of breath.
you can just fill in the rest of the 36 other shortcomings and lacks .

          so lets start praying.

You guys are putting a lot of pressure on yourselves. Do not waste your time. Individually, we have agood team. Even if you bring the best coach in the World, it will be very difficult to change the style of our game because it is basically very much settled. It is 2 years that TM has been playing the same style.

We have talented and experienced players who play in Europe. We are not as good as Portugal and Mexico, we know that. But we are not VERY much lower than a mediocre Mexico. We can beat them if our player splay up to par! About Portugal, we will have to play defensive and every coach would do the same thing. Defend and counter attack.

Please stop bashing the coach. There is so much you can do as Martin said. Not a lot to add to what he has said. All the World will sit and watch us and many will like TM to fail. I will pray for them to do well and exhibit a good show. I will no care really who our coach is.

Just a couple of observations, questions really. Who decides what is and isn't realistic expectations? Where do you start to measure such a thing? Do you begin by telling yourself that I'm not good enough? I'm expecting too much of myself? I should be content with my current stature because, oh I don't know, the guy sitting next to me has been at his job for the past 20 years so I shouldn't expect to be as good as he is?

I don't know, I guess I just believe in setting certain goals for myself in life and then take the necessary steps in order to achieve them. Yes, what I want for Iranian football begins with better infrastructure, this is achievable if approached with the right attitude and a can do attitude. You cannot have a can do attitude and at the same time ride things off as unattainable and continue to dismiss things on the basis of “we’re just not good enough”, how does one expect to get any better if one continues to utter these words. Most people who hear such words over and over again require therapy just to get by day-to-day life.
Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted the indifference of those who should have known better the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most that has made it possible for evil to triumph.

He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.
