anyways, I don't think how other teams have done matters or should matter.. I think we had a team that could have won the cup this year.. GN blew it...

there was so much talk about defense being so weak , no one cared to pay attention to offense, and at the end, It was our offense that failed us the most..

100% agree with u MR. I am sick of this crap mentality from our players, they are men arent they not little boys? Theres no reason to blame anyone BUT the players b/c ultimately it is them who choose how well to play on the field. They should have some sense in their heads, so why dont they win anything?

ali jan, I actually will "make fun of you" not for putting enayati's name, but ANDO's name !
bro, he was not even a fraction of what he was at the WC !

is it an early saturation or fame or marriage or ... .
whatever it is, he is NOT the same ando and I will not put his name among those who put in 100% in these games.

it would be immensely interesting to watch the legioners this coming club season.
almost all of them will show a different side ( well .... maybe not all. karimi's lazy arse chose qatar which is another lazy arse league ).
they'll be tearing their arses for their clubs now ... and I wonder if anyone will contrast it with their lackluster displays at AC !!

        ----------------

haji jan. korea, traditionally, takes only the WC seriously and doesnt think asia cup as important as it shd.
they look at everything else in asia as a 'PREPERATION" for the WC games.
No wonder they have been consistently qualifying for it for the past 24 years or even more.

        I dont agree though.
I think both WC and AC are important for asian teams.

The whole team was out of sink...........there was no team chemistry as you see in Iraq,or the Saudi's..................................
Beside, ando's style, is a unflashy one..........you need to notice him, when you see the game for the secound time........all his touches are purposeful !,with out any blunders................

Haji jan, I'm afraid it's not the Iranian part speaking here, because the Iranian answer to a loss or disappointing result is "hey, but we played well and the future is bright".

I think our country's football needs a winner's mentality. Second place must not be enough anymore.

                bahram jan,
1- the team was not less out of sync than a year ago. and actually there were less controversies and "haashiyeh" this time. and basically, I am talking about individual displays here.

2- plz dont throw "not flashy style. need to observe" phrase back at me, bro.
I COINED this one here ( a bit modest today, eh ).
I DID observe him and DID see how miserable he was in the most basic fundamentals in football: trapping the f**king ball !
his passing wasnt even on par either ... except a total of 3-4 passes in all 4 games !
he hustled well. I'll give him that much.
but apart from this and a couple of passes, he was NOTHING !

Payman jaan............I should thank you for not embarrisng me, with my spelling, and I do appalogize for that....I will work on it .
Why don't you evaluate other players with the same " glasses " ?!
was ando worse than karimi ?
was he worse than Kia ?
was he worse than hashemian ?
                  etc,etc.................................
the players were unarmed,by being given irrelevent assignments....
The one or two attacks on South Korea, were improvisations, not plans....
The team, was indeed out of "sync", ( ).....not in the way you mentioned, ( distractions and all ), but, by being sent after " Nokhod siah "....
In the game with malaysia, he was the only bright side.
In the game, with uzbacks, and china, he and neko, were the best players.
Mr.Khodabakhshian, said ( I know, I know ,he is not the God ),: The whole team during these games had " LOKNAT ", as loknat e zaban......
did you also notice that ? I did !...........somethings the Saudi's and the Iraqies did not have...niether even,Thayland and vietnam....
this 'Loknat ', and being out of sync, has to do with the coaching......
Do not blame the players !!!!.....( how is that, for throwing at you ? )

1- I dont even count karimi as a football player worthy of TM ANYMORE.
that's why I didnt even mention him.

2- VH DID run a lot and tried very much.
yes, even he was not at his best. but I think it is not all due to his lack of motivation , and half of it is becoz he TRULY IS OUT OF FORM !
when was his last goal for club or TM ?
and the one before that ?
we make too much out of him and he's buckling under this much expectation.

3- YES. he WAS worse than kia.
altho Kia wasnt good either. but didnt make childish and basic mistakes like ando !

I really dont know how to say it, bro.
but when a "pro" football player who has played in the WC and is playing in a european club CAN NOT TRAP a simple ball, I call him failure.
when he doesnt show a fraction of what he does at his club or at TM previously, I call him failure.

I agree, the team didnt play well and had a lot of trouble.
but we are talking about individuals here.

( threw back at you )

4-you dont have to mention that man.
no1 is a master here anyway.

                      Payman e aziz,
look just what everybody calls best TM, actualy is :::

1-Karimi,....................was only good, with some dribblings, which, not only everybody has figured his dribllings out, but also, bayern munich has taken away that from him....and the only thing he was good for, is no longer his style.

2-Mahdavikia.............Not only has lost step becuase of his age, but also,is at the end of his carrier, and has already made his money, and is not much into more glory,....On top of all that,he felt underappreciated,by defensive assignment.

3-Rezaie,...............Very much similar story as Kia, as a matter of fact, He announced his retiredment, and not intested in another WC....his mentality has never intirely been 100% for TM, as he had been erratic.

4-Kabei..................Mad,about not playing...and never played anyway.

5-roudbarian........, He was the lucky man ,as TM did not have much to choose from.

6-Zandi...............,Not talented enough,to ajust to a new position this fast.

7-Hashemian.............,because of , inability in understanding what he should do, or who to work with, was totaly waisted.

8-Our, persian gulf legioners, were mostly alien to our european legioners, and had no chemistry.

                      ..............................................
These legioners, all of them, who are already millioners, had been told by ' SAVAMA',not to come out of thier rooms !, To cut thier hairs, and the prize for winning the cup, would be a trip to MECCA !!!!
                      ............................................

well ... when you put it that way, I must say I agree there's no motivation left for anyone.

I mean if I win something after tearing my arse, I'd rather go to a nice cool beach in some isles and sun bathe , drink and relax ..... NOT GO TO A 45 DEGREE SANDY, RESTRICTED & DEPRESSING DESERT WHERE I GOTTA WALK FOR MILES AND .... you all know the rest !!!

                          Baharm Jaan,

We Iranian expats love to hate IRI and blame them for everything? IRI is to blame for a lot of things, but at times we overdo it. This boogyman IRI and savama has been used for a lot of reasons some of which are just figmentation of our imagination.

I played semi pro football in countries in which football isn't big and beleive me whenever I went to a tournament, there were strict rules about the time we stayed in hotels. We couldn't even go out by ourselves and everything must be done with the team, even watchign a movie in Montreal Canada, the whole team was taken there. Beleive me the coach was a scot man and manager an Irish man and had no connection to Savama. Salar was in the same hotel with our boys in Malaysia, and the players were coming out of their rooms, but couldnt go out of the hotel.

Now I wasn't there myself, but from what I heard from Salar who is a respectabel member of this forum and followed TM from Germany to Malaysia and persoanlly talked to players (Mobali, Kazemian,...) this not coming out of your room isnt' true.

With all the due respect, please dont' value so much to the garbage of Noorizadeh and Sarshar on Radio Farda. These guys are journalist and journalisem for most part is equal to "SENSATIONALISEM".

Now if you have a relaiable source that is a different story, but based on current info, I think this whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

And while at it "to bug you with your spelling" I think it is bunch not "bounch", unless "bounch" is a the british version of "ou" vs "u" in American English.
"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."

Lack of discipline in TM camps has always been a problem. In Asia Cup 2000, many of the players were leaving camp in the middle of the night to go to Beirut night clubs.
In WCQ camps in 2001, there were constant fights between starters and bench players.
We all read what happened in the WC 2006 camp. I don't blame IR for this problem. Its just poor behavior and lack of professionalism by players.

well the offense had never had a real scoring opportunity really. some few opportunities but not that much that I would call it a failure.

The main problem was the midfield in my oppinion. We could never take control of the midfield during the whole tournament.

Good observation. Although offense wasn't anything to write home about despite the huge effort by both Hashemian and Enayati.
