How about Afshin Ghotbi ?.........If Branko, an assistant ,can get the Job, why not another assistant,with even better record ?

just becoz we trusted an assistant ( who was ok for Omid team at busan , but was a HORRIBLE choice for a team playing in the WORLD CUP ) once and failed, it shdnt mean we shd do it again !

excuse me if I dont credit branko for attempting to change the NATURE of our football from an offensive one to a defensive one.
he never got the defensive nature in place and we were at best, unreliable at defense.
but we lost what we had in our offensive style also and becoz of branko's mis-judgement, we fell between the stools.
we ended up a team that lost its teeth and never got a good shield also !

so let me get this straight, u telling me that branko didnt increase the TM level from some number to some bigger number (2 to 5 or watever)???
if u think he did, then u must give him credit like u give credit to denizli.
if u think he didnt, then i guess we disagree and should leave it at that.

his other contribution is this foolish insistence on having 2 def mids in the team !
baba ... we are not AC Milan or .. to have a pair of fighters in the middle who can add to the offensive game of the team as well in terms of playmaking. why force a square peg into a round hole ?

1)this is ur opinion. maybe there are others who think we required 2 DMs, specially in the worldcup. how do u think we held portugal to a goaless draw for wat 70 minutes??
besides, like i said, every coach has his opinion about a certain strategy, formation, player selection etc. im sorry but just because u disagree doesnt make his foolish. wat makes u so sure there was a better option?
2)ghalenoi also used this, watch how the future coaches will also use them.
3)if u wanna compare us to AC Milan, compare everything else also to ac milan. are we ac milan to have such a good defense? are we ac milan to play good defensive and offensive football? are we ac milan to not lose in friendlies against weaker teams (inspite of them also losing)? are we ac milan to be able to get the best coaches in the world?

there is a huge difference between winning 2 trophies with saba battery and pas and winning 1 trophy with esteghlal.
u may want to close ur eyes on this or as u say it urself, "side-step this issue" but we all know the difference in squad, support, fans, favours ghalenoi had in esteghlal and jalali had in saba battery and pas.

jalali has also shown his deep understanding of football, however theoretical it appears on TV, but please, compare it to ghalenoi's analysis on TV. the difference is obvious.
jalali also has more experience and again i repeat, has won the trophy with 2 unpopular and weaker teams compared to esteghlal.

and btw, why did you choose firooz karimi?
I dont recall him "WINNING ANY TROPHIES".

then , if you dont see an acceptable future under denizli, macala, ... and you also agree with the first things I said about not getting lippi or ... , THEN BE HAPPY WITH GN AND THE LIKE AND STOP CRITICIZING AND BASHING HIM... coz that's all you're left with and all you'll get .

i didnt say we wont see an acceptable future under denizli,macala. i just said these guys will also keep our football at the same level, wat it has been so far. no improvement, maybe a bit better than this ghalenoi's team. thats why i didnt expect anything more than wat branko gave us from branko, and thats why i dont expect anything more than this from denizli or macala either.

i have followed him too from 1996 ever since the asian cup was held here in dubai, and since then, he has always been around.

he was made fun of on TV by putting a bengali guy with a loung around him sitting on the ground shouting, "play good or i will pull u out"

i definitely rate macala higher than ghalenoi. he has a lot of experience, specially in the persian gulf, but this can also be a disadvantage as well cos everybody will know us like their "kaafe dast" and also because if he really was good, he wouldnt be changing jobs like he changes his underwear!

yashar jan, reading the first 3-4 paras of ur last post, gives me the impression you didnt READ my post or get it.


in short :

1- I do credit branko for the first 2 yrs. what he did after AC04 deserves none.

2- yes, he set the trend for 2 def mids and that is what I'm bothered about.

3- hehe. the AC milan bit is not mine. it's viva's.
and if you READ my post , you'd see I am NOT comparing. and in fact I'm saying there's NO comparison between the two. (did you even read the post or just picked some words here and there , bro ? )
