Ramingeles...I advise that you stop making rude comments. Respect DD's opinion, regardless of what you think of it. He is a respected member of this site, and has been here long before you or I, so please show some respect.

As for the subject at hand, it is quite simple.

DD chose to show a win against croatia by Korea and eluded to facts that a change in the coach, even at this time (a time which many consider too late), may indeed have positive effects.

FD simply countered with an example of his own, that perhaps DD's way of thinking is skewed a little by his will of disarming Branko from TM at any cost.

I must say however, that zzgloo's comments hit the point right on - The KFA scheduled friendlies with these teams, and whether or not they lose, this is valuable experience for a generally decently young - average aged Korean team.

On the flip side, I do believe there are limits in our football (obviously our political stance has no helped our situation), and there are some things that our federation simply will not do. The first, being playing friendlies outside of Iran. My guess is that government officials do not want to have the Iranian team partying, drinking, and going with girls here or there in separate countries - but this is nothing but a guess. As for having friendlies in Iran, well, we all know the story, and there is no point stating it again.

My frustration with DD at this point is:

Why must you say Branko is a "wimp", and talk about other teams' friendlies when obviously there are limitations to our football that are beyond "football" matters?

To be honest, we must all throw our hats up in the air in celebration to the chance of playing Costa Rica - an excellent friendly choice for Iran. Another European team of decent power, and we're set.
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

            yes, you read it right.
this, after changing their coach recently.
            what does it tell us?
goes to show, if the ppl have brains and guts, they will achieve much.
on the other hand, if ppl have no brains and no guts, and are always afraid of everything, they will maintain their status-quo , in the end they are the ones
            who will suffer.
now, which one do we like to be?
p.s. easy tiger, I am just messing with you
loool, you beat me on this, I just wanted to post it

Korea with their supa dupa new coach lost to a team that didn't even qualify for World Cup. So beating Croatia in a meaningless friendly was a big proof how great it is to change the coach, now this meaningless friendly should prove the opposite...

faraz jan, you must surely know the wimp characterization did not start with the loss to macedonia or ... !

we all know how his gutless approach denied many opportunities , in several games, to use them in testing new players, alternatives, new formations, tactics .... .

when you face a fifth grade club from england, and instead of trying to find a SOLUTION for the failing defense ( 4 defenders, GK and Def-mid , all included ) by trying new ppl who may answer and turn up, you shdnt be surprised to be labled a wimp.

same thing in many other games.
the most appalling one was how our main team was sent to laos !!
                  yes, laos !
did we really need karimi, mirza, daei, ... to counter the humongous threat of laos' fantastically talented uber-athletes ?

what about playing with 8 defensive minded players, in a FRIENDLY, against a pisspoor team, IN AZADI ? ......... sticking with the same failed formation and players ?

to bring the point home, let me ask you or mansoor jan or whoever that decides to defend him vehemently: can any one of you enlighten us with just WHO is our second choice keeper?
or WHO is our reliable left back
or WHO is our reliable left wing mid ?
                  or ....

such WIMPY acts and approches are peppered all over the past 1.5 yrs.

his runnign away from any real test, and continuously postponing test games on such absurd and pathetic excuses as "lets see the WC grouping", and then "Asia grouping" , ... just ACCENTUATES this characterization.

so plz do understand this is based on a LOT of different and diverse acts, deeds, statements, ... in the past 1.5 yrs.

( notice I havent even gone to his laj baazi on many matters, or his incapability in reversing the regress ! )

                  -------------------

zz jan brought up a very valid point :

korea does not stay at home and insist to play all its games at home ( thus having home advantage ).
they go into the heart of europe and play giant teams at their own turf.

now contrast it with dadkan's and branko's moronic insistence to play everything here !!

one has many options to excuse this:
1- we dont have any money to travel !!
2- our players are scared of flying, and train journies take too damned long !!
3- we are scared to play outside, lest we lose that little advantage we have by playing with our fans backing us !! ( as if the WC is going to be held in bloody tehran !! )

doesnt this , once more, underline a certain wimpy behavior ?

                  -------------

mansoor jan, I am glad you know for whom the tiger thing was .

Peyman jaan refered to a friendly match and it's result as the point of reference to judge coaches, federations, teams, etc, and even made a thread in F+ about it.

He digged the hole for himself not realizing there are more friendly to come and there were friendly before it (e.g. two weeks before it: UAE 1 Korea 0).

As bad as Peyman jaan sometimes goes to reach for "excuses" to put "who he doesn't like" and "who he passionately loves", you can't help it but gain eventual sense of humor about it.

Not laughing at him(and I hope he knows that) but using some humor to respond that "baba, look how bad what you said here looks".

                        ------------------------

Faraz jaan, Amin jaan, thanks for getting the point and trying to clarify.

                        -----------------------

Peyman jaan, how did this thread suddenly change direction???? The thread was about Korea, change of coach, and "what does it tell us" with the result of the team. I don't see any respond to "what does it tell us" through out the thread ..... I thought last time you were refering to the result of a friendly match as the point of reference to compare the two directions.... Could you also claify that with this result please? or should we close the case that the last thread was a mistake?
