I am pretty certain it is not Panjali... The player standing on the left is probably Dastjerdi or Safarian (Armenian player) ....

The young man sitting player... I have no clue or recollection at all, Ia m afraid.

Anyway, let us name them (minus the unknown)

L2R standing ???? , Hadi Tavousi , Bizan Zolfagharnasab , Parviz Ghleechkhani , Ismael Haj Rahimipour , Alireza Azizi.

    Sitting L2R: ????, Ali Parvin , Mohammad Mayeli-Kohan , Safar Iranpak , Mohammad Dadkan.

other players of that team , not in the picture, were : Mahmoud Khordbin , Mohd. Reza Khalatbary , Reza Vatankhah , Jahanghir Fattahi , Asghar Adibi.

That season saw the retirement of Kashani (earlier) Ashtiani , Kalani , Behzadi. The team coach was Mansour Ameer-Asefi and the Chairman was Ali Abdo who I believe owned a company called CRC !

Perspolis won two out of *five !* of Jam Takht Jamshid and in one year , they completed the league unbeaten.

Thanks. That is exactly how I remember Ghelich playing for Perspolis with that white sleeve.

Majid jaan, the goal keeper is not Hadi Tavousi and that one to his left is not Bijan Zolfaghar nasab. That defender is Yagoub Fatemi Moghadam. He was a central defender. I will remember goali's name soon. Also, the one sitting to the left is Rouhollah Ebadzadeh, a right footer playing left back for Perspolis. .... god that goalie's name is ..... something like Ghareh Khanloo .... I know it will hit me soon. The one standing to the left also I believe is Masihnia but not sure.

This picture would line up like this:
          Gharekhanloo
          Dadkan-FatemiMoghadam-?-Ebadzadeh
          Parvin-Ghelich-Mayeli
          Hajrahimipour-Iranpak-Azizi

                  Thanks Mansoor Agha.

I don't remember how Gharekhanloo looked like , but I take your word for it, however that rishoo is not Masihnia.

Agha Mansoor, would you mind checking your sources again? I don't think Gharekhanloo was a PP goalie at that time. Again I wasn't a pp fan, but Bahram Mavedat was the main PP goalie around that time.

Also, what I recall about Masih Masihnia was he was very tall and good in the air. So I dont' think that guy is Masihnia, but ofcourse I can be wrong.

If this picture is taken in 1977, the standing guy can't be Homayoon Behzadi, but the guy kind of look like Homayoon Behzadi. Are you guys sure about 1977 for the picture date?
"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."
Afshin Ghotbi ( Former TM Head Coach)

Nasser Hejazi was the Takhti of our football.

Again, this is what my memory tells me
(maybe) Masihnia, Gharekhanloo, Yaghoub FatemiMoghadam, Ghelich, Esmail Hajrahimipour, Alireza Azizi
Rouhollah Ebadzadeh, Ali Parvin, Safar Iranpak, Mayeli, Dadkan
                      ==
Ali agah, that is for sure not Mavedat. And Gharekhanloo did play at that time. As for my source, I don't have any It is all just a memory from those days. And that guy certainly is not related to Bahzadi either.

The old Persepolis used to have so many educated players. I think all of the players in that picture (except for Parvin) had university education. I can't believe Mayeli Kohan was playing football even at that time!

Persepolis today in terms of class of players is not comparable to then.

sorry for bringing up an old thread but right now on zahab's show, ghelichkhani was on TV.

ghelichkhani said, he wanted to go to run away from iran and go to america. his wife and children were there but savak didnt allow him to go.
apparently, abdo (perspolis club owner??) told ghelichkhani to play for perspolis and he will issue his "rezayat name" so ghelichkhani signed for 1 season and perpsolis paid him for 1 season.

during half season, after 5 6 months, his "rezayat name" was issued and ghelichkhani said he wanted to go and didnt want to stay in perspolis. aparently abdo told him that u have a 1 year contract and wait for ur whole contract to finish but ghelichkhani said, no, i wanna go and get my coaching license (that was his excuse to leave iran). abdo said, alright, keep the whole contract money, go get ur license but come and coach perspolis once ur back.

                            ---------------

he says that time in perspolis, amir asef was the coach of perspolis and parvin was just a player but parvin didnt listen to amir asef as a coach which he should have done as a player. but ghelichkhani himself didnt get involved in all these issues because he was only playing in perspolis because abdo had promised him his rezayat name and ghelichkhani wanted to leave iran.

                            -------------------

he also says about an incident when he was playing in taj and khordbin and him had a tackle in the middle of the field which the referee (Haj Abol Hassan??) whistled for foul but at the same time khordbin shot the ball and it went in. the referee didnt accept the goal and perspolis GK asli came and hit the refere and ecentually the game was left unfinished and taj declared 3-0 winners of that game.
ghelichkhani says that nasser hejazi heard the referees whistle and so didnt react to that shot and the ball went in the goal, maybe the referee could have allowed the game to continue and not call that a foul but aziz asli had no reason to come and beat the referee and it was very wrong of him.

he also days his weakest games was in perspolis times because of lack of concentration on games and more focus of running away from iran.

                            --------------------

about how he joined taj, he says, he and jalal talebli used to play in darai. and one day a turkish scout comes and decides to take these 2 players to turkey and says they will each get paid 800,000 toman to which talebi and ghelichkhani agreed. next day, all the newspapers say ghelichkhani and talebi are selling their country and football to turkey for 800,00 toman. (apparently turkey was nothing that time compared to iran).
so head of olympic committe that time, gharighozloo?? tells them, stay in iran and we will pay u 400,000 toman each but the condition was for them to play in Taj. and then gharigozloo gets replaced by someone else and talebli and ghelichkhani had no "sanad" or proof that they were to get 400,000 each. so they got paid only 80,000 each

                              Very interesting yashar jan. Thanks.

It seems that Ghleech was forced to play for Perspolis as much as he was forced to play for Taj !!!

Now , Why do I have my doubts about such claims ??
