While I agree with you completely that football has changed into a business and sport , ghyrat , sportsmanship and all these term have all been relegated to second best. The point that I want to add here is in defense of the players themselves.
Ghyrat or let us substitute this into English to make it easier , LOYALTY , is a 2 way street. Both clubs and players have to have mutual loyalty and I am afraid it is not always the players who are to be blamed.
Professional Clubs , nowadays , squeeze ever drop out of the player and when they see a sign of weakness or drop in form , they don't hesitate o dump them. Even players with seniority are not immune these days from such indiscretion.
So , it is not always the players that lack loyalty , it is the circumstances that dictate such situations.
