I think defence is much more about team play and coverage than individual
characteristics. The Italian team was the proof. Our defenders, after all of
these years, just seem out of position than out of pace. It seems they panic,
and don't know where they should be, and that's what gives the space rather
than their speed. Also, they collapse rather easily, even when there are
supposedly 7-8 of our players in our half of the court, which again points to
mis-position than speed. The Syrians just didnt have good finishers.
It also doesn't help when some in the middle or even forwards don't help properly
or are out of sync in the back.
What happened to that kid, Al-e-Nemeh? He is 192cm and a very good
team defender.
