TM - Need any improvements?

Before anything, lets assume the majority’s word is true, which means we DO have problems in the team and in the following areas.

Those of you who think otherwise, meaning don’t see any problems in these areas, also have a choice to proclaim such belief.

Now, in the upcoming game against Costa Rica, WHAT do we want to see?
We want to see any improvement in which areas?

The way things are going, I doubt we’d get even a half-decent test game. And this may be our only test before we head to Germany and play a couple of third or fourth division mahali teams.

So this is it. This is where branko can finally PROVE to us he is capable of correcting all the defects in the team ( …. That is in case we actually do acknowledge these deficiencies & problems’ existence, of course ).

MULTIPLE CHOICES ALLOWED.

WHERE do we need improvements ?
1- Goal keeping
2- Left back
3- Left wing / Midfield
4- Striker / Goal scoring
5- A teamwork / performance befitting a team competing against Mexico & Portugal
6- No need for any improvement. The team has no problems & runs smoothly as it is.

BASICALLY, WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS AND WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE FROM TM IN THIS GAME ?

I don't think we can ever reach the ultimate situation where we don't need any improvments. I voted yes to first five. I would vote yes to ANY area.

Branko doesn't need to prove anything, nor do I think the majority must necessarily be right.

Finally shortcomings mostly are not the coach's fault. No coach in the world can give us a world class goalkeeper.

I don't want to see anything from the Costa Rica game. It is a test match and meant to help the coach making the right conclusions and present a successful team in Germany.

Everything else, including satisfying Dr. Doom, is not purpose of this friendly.

As I wrote in other thread,that is time to set aside criticisem,and get ready to fight....
I think,the choices presented by DD jan,are not all equal, and they have different stage of urgency...

1- Gole keeping, is no longer an issue at this jucture..although, we could have, and we should have...but at this moment.....we should consider it a non- issue.

2- same with left back, we tried and we tried...and we did not find another kabei, and realisticaly, there is no more time to invest to find one, ....therefore, that is a non-issue,and we should accept what ever Branko decides on this matter.

3-left wing, is same as left back,and may be even in a better situation.

4- Striker !!, here is a post, that may be is the out most important position for us, we have experince with daei,yet not much energy, we have hashemian,and karimi,,,,the other possible prospects, are too risky,to consider, considering the level of competition.

5- team work....may be the only selection among choices here,that we still realisticaly still can do something about.....we how ever,need to give Branko our fool support,and equeipt him with what ever he might need.

zz jan, with due respect , I have a couple of problems with the above post :

1- GK is not a problem , .... why?
just becoz the team hasnt been tested, and we have not seen them perform means all those long-standing problems have vanished?
out of sight, out of mind?

how did the GK problem get solved?

and btw, just WHO is our alternative to mirza?

even human cant answer this ( as evident till a while back ).
so exactly WHAT is solved in this area?

2- LB : "we tried and tried" ?
zz jan, you, of all ppl shd know exactly 'what' and 'how' these tries were.

playing the SAME players in the same wrong positions all the time is called "trying" nowadays?

we can try to put a square peg into a round hole 2000 times.
when it doesnt go in, shd we give up and not try OTHER ( key word here ) pegs that may have fit ?

instead of trying this square peg 200 times, wouldnt it be a little more logical to try 2-3 OTHER pegs 2-3 times , at least ?

3- left wing is in a "better situation" ?

plus DO refer to mansoor jan's pictorial explanation of what a mess our left mid is .

the team DOES need many improvments.

unless our shazdeh thinks he knows more than all the experts, media, coaches, football personalities who have all stated and reiterated the same point !!!!


whether we like it or not, this game may be our last and ONLY test before the games.
even if the opponents are nowhere near strenght of mexicans or porteguese.

and this is the time to show what we have and what we are taking to the games.

much time has passed through dodging, running away, denying, ... .

and it is not to MY satisfaction, but a natural process for all teams to attend the games.
the teams ought to be peaking slowly.
in OUR case, considering the dearth of friendlies , we should be in a position to play our true game in this game.


now, some ppl want to excuse some more.
they want to dodge and deny some more.
that's them , and nothing can be done.

but it doesnt change the facts and reality.

I belive that we need improvements in goalkeeping position,
Deffinalty with goalkeepers like Mirzapour, Talebloo and Vaezi in the squad, We still need them to improve

Also i would like to find more depht in the defence line, Ansarians addition was great, now i would like to see someone like Bengar or Taghripour being added aswell,,

In the Striking position i would like to see Oladi being added aswell as Akbarpour

Also i really think your Team work option is a good one, we need to work better together and more as a team,

for left back,,we in our club level just do not have a worthy option....do you see any,worthy of change so close to WC ?
the reality is, we will be in the WC, with Branko !, and his choices !!,and if he has not find them in last 5 years evaluation....will you trust in 3 mounth evaluation ?

I believe talebloo is a fine keeper , but how many games has he started & finished in TM ?

By the way I have to add that I find it quite interesting how a certain administrator just has to get the last word in edgewise and closes the thread quite disrespectfully I might add!! You should PM if you have objection, not to change direction in this thread. But to answer your concern raised, you did disrespect on the exchange of opinion. I was very respectful when I responded to your first post despite your rude words. But it seemed as if that method of rude responses wouldn't go away. I guess some of you have different standard in what respect and disrespect means and I can't change that.

My suggestion is to read your own quote a few times and review that thread more carefully with your quote in mind:

1. Adding my name has a long story behind it. It starts with yet again another long story about selecting football-doost as user name in another site which I won't bore you with. It will eventually change to mansoor (without fd), as my first name, to allow members to communicate with me in a bit more friendly basis by calling first names rather than ambiguous id name. But I first wanted to avoid confusion and all those possible questions from the members about who is this new member mansoor that has suddenly become admin.

2. There is no need for "warning" and the reminder should just do fine. I am not a fan of "warning" and I have only used it once in my entire time in here and I even did regret that use back then. And you are the only one that got possible loss of membership previlige as a direct "reminder" from me which I am sure being the only one is self-explanatory.

3. It is rather strange that you claim to wish to have less exchanges but in both occasions in last few days you have jumped in without invitation, both in ARAY's post, and in the last thread that I was joking with Dr Doom which I was forced to edit and close. Your claim has actually been my wish for a long time as I didn't find your "kenaye" and code talk entertaining. I hardly even read your posts or even visit your threads. Since we have mutual wish, I suggest you enforce your wish more often rather than jumping into others complain with embarrasing remark as such and still claim that you have not insulted anybody here.

Sure TM needs improvement in several areas, but as bad as Nosrati and Zareh maybe for our defence, its alot more important for us to have a potent striking force, which we DONT.

i mean to have a shaky defence is bad, but u can rely on a good midfield, and hope for the opponent not to make the best of there chances. But a poor striking force which doesnt even find oppartunities can be fatal.

Hashemian is by far our best forward and his record doesnt say much. So we are pretty badly in need of forwards.
