loooooooooooool. Call me a pervert but i thought this thread was about something else. To answer your question...i think both need 2 go hand in hand, but skill>physique..look at roberto carlos, hossein kaebi, sean wright philips then look at peter crouch who is a whopping 6 foot 8 inches and still struggles 2 score. There is no 'correct' answer to your question.

you can't do anything about the length of your life, but you can do something about its width and depth
yah i think skill makes up for lack of size, but players need to play according to their size, im a big mofo so i dont go tryin to do all these fancy dribbling tricks w/ my slow treetrunk sized legs, but playing D i put a body on a guy to slow them down and take them off their game, especially the small quick dribbling kinds... it's all in how u use ur size to ur advantage
as a general rule in todays game which forces a player to be 70% physique 30% technique, a player under about say 5 ft 5 (165 cm) would have to be a genius to succeed.

taha e aziz,
I thought the same....but franckly, I think, the answer in both cases is the same......which , Technique is allways prefered, but all things equal, size does mater !!!
i gt 2 say speed, skills, staminer are d most importent things cus looking at myselv iam 1.73m and weight about 54k so i gt very small figure for football in some ways but what i have is all muscle but also i have a very high speed n dat allways help me come on top over big df or mid. speed and skill most efective but u also need to b able to keep it going cuz size realy isnt importent aslong as u have d main items.
well it does matter. it depends on where and which position the player plays:
Goalkeeper - Generally size matters however in some cases VERY intelligent ones come out to be short (like Mexico's Campos)
Mid-defense - It definitly matters for both the sweeper and skipper to be tall and strong
Side defense - Preferably smaller players that can be quick and good on 1-on-1's
Defensive midfielder - I would say strength is very important but height is not
Attacking midfielder - Does not matter ... Maradonna is an example
Striker - Depends on the style of play .. small or big, anyone who can score will play up front
--------------Big-----------------
small---big-------big----small--
------------Strong---------------
both ------- both ------ both ---
--------both--------both---------
