    Old timers !

I looked and looked, for the thread maij opened a while ago for gone by days of our football...but could n't find it...
I realy realy enjoyed , watching the daryoush Zahab's program last night, and tonight is the final of two section interview with " Masood Mojdehi "
God bless him, he has not changed, and as playful as ever....He was the guy I remmember copying ( Along with Adelkhani ) when I was younger.....The way both use to run and all............
Mojdehi, may be the fastest forward we have ever had in our history, and played with lots of spirit.......PP fans hated him, as he used to bow down toward them when he used to score, to Rub-it-in !...he had the bad luck for being in the same post as Roshan !, yet he did his thing any way.
Good Times !!!........I recommand you all to watch the secound half tonight.

I completely agree ZZ jan. Even though I was a PP fan then, still I remember the sounds of Taj fans going "hoo hoo Mojdehee" as he scored. The program last night was great!
I also very much enjoyed watching Hassan Nazari, who was also a Taji but a great TM player interview and toward the end I had tears in my eyes. These guys all speak Persain like me (Persian-English) yet their passion for Iranian football is endless.

On a separate note, we should have a tribute thread for Daryoush Zahab for his professionalism
and the great work he is doing for our athletes abroad to commemorate their services.

Many of the older athletes live by their memories and it is just great for someone to pay
attention and give them the spotlight after all these years.

God bless you !Gol-kuchik jaan. I agree, not only Zahab is doing a great thing,to commemorate players, but also, these players do have some memories that otherwise will be missed in the history of our football.
How ever, one thing Zahab can improve on, is to more set aside his own views , althougth he tries .
In interview with Mojdehi, and while he is well respected Taj player, most questions were around Perspolise !and he kept insisting Mojdehi is Pasi and Shahini !!!!!while he had played 6 mounths for Pas and 8 years for Taj...., I ( As a Taj enthusiast ) expected his momries in relation to TAJ organization and games .I wonder, when Zahab is going to interview Haji-Rahimi in three weeks ( As he promised ), are the questions going to be in relation with TAJ ?

Aaahhh... I am fully of envy now...

Bahram jan..... Could you kindly publish the channel and the timing of Mr. Zahab's program ?? Many thanks..

Mojdahie...wow , what a player with his long curly hair and the incredible acceleration....unfortunately , he did ot make too many Team Melli appearance for one reason or another , but that by no means does reduce his value in my mind as one of the great players of the 70's.

Another one that did not get the appreciation like Mojdahei was hadi Naraghi, a player I always enjoyed watching.

To be fair to Zahab, he is always talking about the accomplishment of our great
players, be it in U.S or away. I think the fact that he took time to travel to
Texas, and have found all these great players and doing interview with them
(and in other fields like wrestling etc) he always looks for old timer accomplished
athletes to honor and that is just great.

Please also note, that unlike some other program (which I have completely
lost all my respect for), that routinely calls: Hejazi (possibly our best
TM keeper), Parvin and many others traitors!!! Zahab program is respectful
          as it should be.

I dont have his e-mail, but I am sure if you have gripes about his program
he can address it. I called him during one of his shows last year and he
          could take criticism very well.

My sense is, he loves Shaheen and he tries not to hide it, but by no means
          he is anti-Taj.

            Majid Jan,

He is on Andisheh T.V at 8:00 pm M-Th. He also has 1:30 hour programs
sometimes on Friday (i.e starts at 7:30 pm). Of course I like his football
coverage a lot more than say basketball which I usually skip.

maij jaan, " ATV " or Andisheh TV has a program called Sport digest ,with daryoush zahab,at 11 eastern time,or 8 LA time..... www.AndishehTV.com

Mojdehi, was a true forward, with speed spirit and arrogance required for the job.....I used to go to the same highschool with him and his brother , Abbas, who also was a good player... we used to go to " Farokh-manesh " high school in Abbas abbad, as he was " Bacheh e takhteh tavoos ".
I also met and played with him in Dallas, during 10 years I used live in Dallas TX............. He was very playful, and " Shookh ", and good with Girls !
The interview was in his house, the same house I was in ,when he invited me, and 3 other fellow Iranian friends to watch WC together.....
              God bless him......
PS, Zahab said, he will have " Haj rahimi poor " ,who lives in north california,in two week on his program.
He also said, Ghelichkhani, who lives in France, is poleticaly very active, and is not interested in talking about football any more.

                  Many thanks for the info.

I have met Masoud here Bahrain when taj visited in the early seventies. I don't recall he played in the match though. All I can remember is that he was quiet on the bench unlike his fiery character on the pitch.

Petty about Ghleech not wanting to talk about football and focusing entirely on politics. He is a legendary man who is doing a dis-service to his fellow countrymen for refusing to talk about what people know him for and that is football.

To Mojdehi's bad luck, he was in a same team, and the same post as Hassan Roshan......
I would not catagorize what Ghelich is doing as dis-serivce !but I know what you mean.....

Well, I don't want to criticize Ghleech too much , I still have a lot of respect for him as a player. However , Like to explain my motive in saying he is doing a disservice to the Persian football community.

I am sure , you understand Bahram Agha , that the civilization , the progress , the advancement and the highly technical world that we live in is a a result of some great men, having skilled technical ability , thinkers , wise men and scientist amongst many creeds , parting their knowledge to the public….this is how it stands and always stood in the progress of civilizations.

What is the point if I keep all the knowledge that I have in any field? some of it could be very valuable to others and could use it to improve themselves . What do I achieve by taking this knowledge to the grave??

I hope I cleared that one.
                      .

I was a big fan of Naraghi as well, specially when he played in the Javannan (right wing) Hassan Rowshan (left) and a khuzestni player ( i dont' remember his name) was playing center in Jaane Valeeahd in Khuzestan.
"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."

Nasser Hejazi was the Takhti of our football.

Majid jaan....I love and respect where your heart is, and I totaly agree,...yet, what I meant was, he is going on the same path as takhti...
To him, poletical activity, is the right path to help his people, which we can not argue too much about that.......He after all was active even at the shah's time....and to him, perhaps, Freedom is more important than football.

Of course he is free to set his own priority , but we are talking about football here. No one is forcing him to abandon his political views , which I have respect for both during the Shah's regime and now.
