Poll: Was Rahman Rezai justified in taking two days off?

Rahman Rezai has been crossed off from TM list. Apparently, when he arrived in Tehran, he spent the next two days with his family instead of reporting directly to the training camp. He claims he had called Ali Daei on his mobile, and left him several message, but Daei was out of the country and everyone knew this. Still, why even call Daei? Should a player haggle over when to report to training camp?

Given the current situation of TM, unless a player has an
obligation to a club, there is no reason not to report to training camp on
time. If given the few days left prior to TM matches, senior players visit their family and friends instead of preparing themselves for TM, what kind of message will that send to those who have reported to the camp?

Unless a family member was very sick or someone had died then he should have shown up to the training camp on time.

Completely agree. From his interview, the only thing he mentioned was that
he was away from Iran for 2 years! and wanted to visit and spend time with his family.

apparently, this hasnt been the first time he's delayed reporting to the camp. during the past few years he's been doing ti regularly, under shahrokhi, branko and GN.
so he's set a precedence and sensitized ppl over this.

but I stay uncommitted on the issue.
I see both sides of his argument and daei's.
daei's is manitenance of discipline within the team. which is good.
but rahman's is this shdnt be such a big deal with 3 weeks left to the uae game and plenty of time to get coordinated for ONE player, who has already been to TM.

however, daei is slightly more right as he may be tryign to set a record for the REST OF THE PLAYERS.

According to Daei, ticket to the training camp which started on Wed was sent to Rahman, but he contacted Ebrahimi on Thursday saying his father in law is ill.

Classic unprofessionalism as I suspected. This should set great precedent for rest of the players.

Well Rezaei is clearly being loos, since he "retired" from TM, this is the first time he's been called up since and now he bailed on training camp

Hard to say, usually players who had a longer season can still take a few days off. Such things must be coordinated with the Team Management. Hard to tell wether Daei was simply out of reach and never called back, or Rezaei didn't really try reaching him. Daei will know and act according to that.
