Western Europe is not the Big a deal it once was.

1-Top two FIFA rateings belong to the south Americans, and the 4 th is an Eastern European.
2-The Eastern Europeans have more to say these days.
3-last European Cup was won By Greece under a new coach who had read the Europeans well ,and did not need much talent...and this year,Russia is doing the same.
    4-France and italy were boring.
5-Top techincal and tactical ,Holland team, was out coached,by a team with not much talent.
6- Turkey, without 9 of its top players almost went all the way.
7-The teams who had qualified,to this round of 16 teams.such as Sweden,Romainia,Austria,switzerland,etc..were not much to look at.
8-The ones who did not qualify to the round of 16 must have been weaker.
9-They have never had this many NONE European players playing in thier leagues.
10-They do not normaly do well out side of Europe.
    .................................................. .............................................

It seems, Western Europe, because of its higher standard of living and better infurstructure, has a lot of good to medium teams, but thier top teams have lost step.

If you look a bit closer you will see that, the phonomenon in a way is the impact of globalization on the national teams. A lot of players in Tureky or Crotaia or other teams play in Germany, France, Italy etc. The so called legioners go to the Western European countries play there become better and then come and play for their national team. Turkey for example, Kazem Kazem (former Richards) was playing in England but due to his Turkish roots took Turkish Citizenship. Same with Mahmat Orellio who was a Brazilain who was naturalized in Turkey.

So while the western Europan football at the club level is very strong (look at England with both Chelsea and Man U playing in final), their national team is not getting stronger at the same rate.

So in summary, due to globalization that is very pronounced in football you see western european clubs more and more hire non western european players (since they can play them less in part). This in turn limits the spots for the local players in the league. If there are less British or German players play in their primeir league, in turn their national team has a smaller pool to choose from. On the other hand, in the non western European countries (Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa) you see their clubs are still under the shadows of big clubs, like A.C. Milan, Man U, Chelsee, Bayern, but their national team is getting better and stronger as time goes on.

Add to this the strong factor of nationalisem and opportunity for the lesser known players to show off in front of the whole world and then you can see why Turkey overachieves and Italy or France aren't doing that well.
"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."

Nasser Hejazi was the Takhti of our football.

I had not thought of it ,like that, but what you say make very much sence.
They have less and less local players...but thier clubs have better and better players....
Although,Asia,is not doing as good as Africa, yet, even asian teams are very much improveing...so are africans and Esatern Europeans....and I do not recall Brazil and Argentina to be so good at the same time either.
So, may be , this legioner phenamina, which all of us thought is bad for our football, it may be even worse for the Europeans.

My life is a roller coaster as it is. You might have to throw in a few friendly French (note lot of F ), girl in order to convince me to come with you to Disneyland in Europe
