I can't say anything about the China match since I have not watched it , but I wholeheartedly agree on the second part.

Time and again it has been proven that football needs much more than pure skill from the player. Character , motivation and will power has given players will less God given skill the edge of skillful players.

I never say that Karimi , or any player for that matter , should not be selected or not needed for TM unless that player has lost the will and desire to play for his country.

In Karimi's case , I am not really sure how he feels about playing for Team Melli or Ghotbi per se'..... I do have my doubts.

I saw about 40 minutes of the game in the first half. But not sure what you mean by "functioning better without him"? Are you saying without Karimi TM did better? Compared to what? Assume u are right, How can you be sure "alleged better performance" was due to absence of Karimi? "

I am merely asking for clarifications here. I have no interest to make this pro vs. Anti Karimi affair?

"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."

No sooner than Karimi is planned to return back to Steel Azin's team , the rumors are rife of yet another "Hashiya" , another set of differences , another trouble brewing !!!!

        .

During yesterday game with Saba, toward the end while they were behind, Karimi created a good goal scoring chance from right flank, Kabbi kicked the ball high above the bar that angerd Karimi.
According to Isna and Mehr unpleasant exchanged took place between the two. Karimi demanded Kabi out but according to coach he was under impression Kabi himself wanted to be out.
Incident like that won't help Karimi . Team Coach repeatedly stated he has yet to see any "Star" in his squad in reference to Karimi, Kia, Kabi, Kazemi, zandi, Zeniedpour, ...
I doubt that goes well with players including Karimi , but so far Karimi has been silence about that even when he has to play as a CD.
That frustration will explode soon or later.

At this rate , Karimi will be running out of friends in Steel Azin. However , I sometimes wonder if he really cares. I personally know that Karimi has always been quite friendly with Mahdavikia for many years. The report of the alleged differences between the two is quite disturbing.

As for the Kaebi's case , again it is the same old Karimi act. He thinks he is the coach , chairman and everything in between. Since when does a player demand the substitution of his teammate ?

The arrogance have gone into his head and all his supporter should be ready for more acts of aggression , arrogance and thriller. His victory against Ajerloo will certainly go to his head , and like you I think Karimi will soon explode against the coach and demand his change (perhaps not in public , but certainly in private).

Majid jan, I don't know the full details of what is happening in Steel Azin, but Karimi has always had a habit of lashing out against people who he is friends with. For example he and Kavianpour were very good friends but their friendship ended very suddenly. Apparently Karimi is not even on good terms with his brother Farshid! Anyways, hopefully this is all a misunderstanding.

Yes..that Karimi / Kavianpour is something. I it alleged that Kavinpour was in tears in front of many close friends while talking about how Karimi has mistreated/insulted him while Karimi on his side was accusing Hamed of cheating him in their business partnership Dubai !

At our level , we cannot vouch for either side simply because we do not have the full story nor do we have any evidences...but as Toofan said in his post " how come no one else gets into so much trouble?"

It is really..really difficult to defend a person like Ali Karimi . He is always one step away from trouble and hashiye , and it is NOT always with his peers or the authorities , but it also reaches up to his friends , teammates and even direct family members.

I have not refreshed this rich discussion for sometime , I am happy to update it now but this time with some brilliant news.

ALI KARIMI IS IN SCHALKE O4

                          A
fter his unfair dismissal from Steel Azin , there were not many chances for Karimi to play in the league for one reason or another. It was mostly due to the regulation which limits number of first division registered players in each club.

Karimi was even thinking of hanging his boot at the tender age of 32!

Of course, the unfair dismissal is a personal opinion ,ot hers may think it is not. The declared reason (..) by the club for his dismisal was due to Karimi playing for Al Ahli of Dubai in an exhibition match without club approval! Karimi said otherwise. I simply beleive Karimi because even an indiscipline person like him knows such basic regulations. He just does not take a ticket and fly to Dubai without the club approval or knowledge. The dispute revolves around who was the authorized person. Steel Azin claims the person who gave the OK to Karimi was not authorized to do so , in that case that adminstrator should have been disciplines NOT Ali Karimi.

In any case...the call from Schalke and Magath in particular came like a breath of a fresh spring air for Ali Karimi. OK , the short contract could be limiting , but I think it is long enough for Karimi to excel and show his worth.

Karimi was short of inspiration in Steel Azin. He really did not have the heart , the willingness , and the drive to play for this no name team. People who followed Karimi's career and know his personality will very well be aware that in the case of lack of drive , Karimi will be an ordinary also ran player nothing exciting and very much under par.

Schalke 04 is a new and fresh challenge. Barring injuries and if Magath gives him playing time . I believe that Karimi will excel and thrill his supporters. Schalke is not in a good position at the moment to challenge for the title but qualification to Champions League is possible if they press on and win a few games climbing the table.

I am thrilled to see Karimi in Schalke 04 and follow his progress after a longish time when Karimi was going nowhere but down south. These are exciting times and once again I would personally be following the Bundesliga again.

                          Go Karimi,

Wish him all the success in Germany. See if he can get a starting or even a sub in Schalke.

Onre more thing, I hope Karimi be the Karimi that Magath wanted, someoen like Arjen Ruben ( I know their posts are different), who gets the ball, holds the ball, initiate and take risk. Not trying to become a typical Bundesliga players who runs hard and work hard without improvising.
"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."

When I was in Iran, I bought a pair of fake NIKE sweatpants. I tell you the quality of the pants are much better than the original ones. it keeps me wonder why they fake it then.

Well , I am glad you found the quality in those fake goods , Reza Jan. I , on the other hand , was never that lucky.

The last time I bought some fake in Tehran , about 10 years ago or maybe or more, It was a white Esteghlal jersey with a large blue logo printed in the front. It was summer and after wearing it for the day , I took it off for washing ...I was pleasantly surprised to see the Esteghlal blue logo was now transferred on my chest ...That was a bonus , I guess!
