Faraz jaan, here was the line up in first half. I'll comment on it later but still proved the same "problem" I had talked about before:

    -----------Daei----------Khatibi-----------(they switched later)

    -----------------Jabbari-------------------

    --------Nekunam-----------Teymourian----
    -------------------Alavi-----------------

    Zareh-------------------------------Kaabi
    ----------Nosrati-------Golmohammadi-----
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.
    Go IRAN!

Merci Mansoor Jan. That helps a lot. An interesting formation to say the least...?

For the least, this is the lineup that they should have started today:

        -----------Daei----------Kazemian---------

        -----------------Jabbari-------------------

        --------Nekunam-----------Teymourian----
        -------------------Mobali-----------------

        Sadeghi-------------------------------Kaabi
        ----------Nosrati-------Golmohammadi-----

By the way, the Taiwanese coach says they were lucky and that Iran's forward line did not appear to play up to the expectations:

سرمربي فوتبال تايوان: ماخوش شانس بوديم، ايران درحد انتظار ما ظاهر نشد - IranSport.Net

not much was expected from a team that had not played together for almost 3 months in a actual game. but over all, we need to play more games and become more of a team, not much time left.

What i found out after this game

Teymorian and Jabbari are great players and both better then Nekonam at the moment

Madanchi is much better then Niki and Zareh put together

Nosrati plays much better in Central defence

AND, Alavi needs to get kicked out

I havent seen the game, but i see that Jabbari had an amazing game. Do you guys think that he should start? If so, who should he start over? Zandi was having a bad spell, and a couple weeks ago everyone was saying that he should be benched, but he has picked it up recently. Nekounam hasnt done much in a while; he is really slipping. Would it be a possibility to replace Nekounam?
And can Jabbari play on the left side? Who is better, Mobali or Jabbari? If you had to choose the world cup midfield right now, who would be starting?
And do you think Madanchi can start at left back? There is no question that he is head and shoulders above both Zare and Nosrati in every aspect of the game, offensive or defensive, but he is attack minded, and Kaebi is also very attack minded. Will that work out, having both sides of our defense being so attack minded?

I will try to answer these questions after I watch the game.

Jabbari and Teymorian are 2 fine midfielders at the monent

If we had a coach who actually cared about WHO was in best form Jabbari,Mobali,Teymorian AND Madanchi would start

But Branko does not look at how good you are, he does what he likes

But Jabbari,Teymorian,Mobali are all better options then Nekonam at the moment,

Do you suggest playing madanchi as left back? Can we have two defenders (Madanchi and Kaebi) who are so attack minded?

                    I agree with Salarvifans idea,

We should play Nosrati and Yahya in Central defence with Rezaei as left defence

Rezaei can do good covering the left

                    And midfield looking like this

                    -------------------------Nekonam----------Madanchi----------------------
                    -----------Mahdavikia--------------Karimi-----------------Zandi-----------

Anyway all that said, Madanchi deserves to be a starter in Team melli

Far more then Zareh, I just hope Branko have understood that after yesterdays game

The fact is 90% of the TIM lineup is already decided and nothing said is going to change Branko's mind. Our only hope will be to see Jabbari start. I am talking about this part:

                      ---------Hashemian---Daie----------
                      Zandi----Karimi--------Mahdavikia
                      -----------Nekonam----------------

And even we know that Golmohamadi and Rezaie will b our center backs.

But If I were the coach, I would go with such a lineup in the WC:

                      ---------------Hashemian---------------
                      ------Zandi------Karimi---------Kazemian
                      -------------Nekonam--Jabbari-----------
                      --????-----Rezaie--Golmo-------Mahdavikia

Teymorian can be used instead of Kazemian/Jabbari. This lineup has some advantages.
First we wont have a player like Daie just standing in the opponants area while our team is defending most of the time. We have 1 striker and 3 AM so we can put good pressure on them when they have the ball. Our right midfield is magnificently quick with Kazemian and Mahdavikia and there 4 playmakers in the midfield! (unlike today where we had only 1)
We still dont have a leftback. Madanchi can be subbed in for Zandi if we need more width and speed on the left.

                        I watched the game.

All I can say is : Minute 56 (Watch Nosrati trying to be Karimi in front of the opponant's 18 yard box). somebody gotta tell him , he is not good at dribbling.
He looses the ball and there is a counter.

that was the only attack they had.

they had Two chances to score both on the same attack.

the central Defense looked out of place.

but I know that will not happen at the WC

I watched the game too -

1- ChinaT was the worst possible team for us to get new players tested against. They simply had NOTHING. As a result I am sitting here not knowing wether Madanchi can repeat against a semi decent opponent.
2- I liked Khatibi - he is TM material. Same with Jabari - if he keeps getting better.
3- Any sane coach would abandon: Zare, Nosrati, Alavi, even Teymourian -
We need playmakers who are fast.

                          4- Daei - he is DONE !!!

khatibi hugs the ball too much, he needs to get red of that somwhat...
but u r right, the apponent was not much of a team to be a test for any of the players...let's wait for next week's game and see how we do as a team, and how the players will perform..
also, Hadi is right, most of the team has already been picked in Branko's mind, we won't see much change and I hope we see Jabari and a few others challenge the regular starters for WC.

I think you're overreacting. It was a petty game against Taiwan. We didn't play GREAT, but we definitely didn't play as bad as you make it out to seem. Some questions must be asked, but generally, it wasn't THAT bad. Contain that anger for the next game, granted we play poorly.
