I like what Daie is doing with the youth...

I think we do need a change in attitude and maybe, only maybe daie can do that with focusing on the youth and building a foundation for at least next 10-15 years....I know this issue has been discussed before, and I myself don't think we will be able to do it this time without the older boys around and I hope daie can see that, but overall, his vision towards the youth is positive and it will have positive effects if it is for the right reason, (not necessarily to avoid the older generation who he played with and has many issues w/, I still hope ) ,,,,
if we somehow and by some miracle we manage to make the wc2010, which again won't be possible w/out some of the bigger names, what is being done today, will eventually pay off in 2011 asian cup and 2012 wc...BUT if we don't make the wc, a huge step back and many things might change again....

    The - Red e aziz..............
you have made me confused here.....
    ........
Which is it ?...is he not doing good ,not inviteing vetrans ? or is it better what he is doing with out them ?....
which is it, it will pay off for 2011,2012,or things might change again ?
Is daie doing right with selections ? or it might take miracle to qualify ?
It is good to invite these players? or it won't be possible w/out some bigger names ?

This is a situation , I see most fans to be in !.......
    I guestimate.;

15% think daei is the answer !
15% are totaly against him !
15% Have just withdrawn and are numb!
55% just like your statement, are ambivalant !

Armin Jan, I must say I am also a little bit confused on the issue you have raised. Mabe a bit of elaboration can help me understand it better.

As for the issue of the youth , I have always supported the inclusion of talented young players in Team Melli for many reasons. However , it is pretty risky to have a team which lacks experience. At the moment , the scale is good enough as the likes of Nekounam , Nikki and Kaebi (despite his young age) have enough international exposure , while the likes of Aghili and Hosseini have stamped their authority well despite the shortage of big numbers of intrernational appearances.

To get the balance right , is not an easy task , however , in my view if there is to be a bias , then it should be towards the youngsters.

        YEEEES. exactly.

there should be no biase at all but if one has to be, then he has to be forward looking...
sticking to old veterans, by arguing: well the youth isn't there yet, brings us nowhere but to a WC catastrophy, as we all have, sadly, witnessed.

maybe I didn't explain it right; I was typing extremly fast and ...anyways, I am talking long term effects of what he is trying to do...of course for the purposes of 2010 we can't and shouldn't rely on bunch of young players and not bring back the trio....my statement above is more concerned with the long term effects of what he is hoping to achieve.

ZZ jan, I don't see things black or white...at least I try not to since nothing is really always black, or white...I was, I am, and probably will be against daie's selection as TM coach for a while until he proves to me that he is worthy of this position and that will take a lot more than beating uae....however, as I said, being totally against him or being totaly against anyone is pretty much like supporing a football club unconditionally/or hating a rival team unconditionally, which in terms of being a fan of a team is acceptable for most people, but applying the same logic to a person in charge of a team or a single player doesn't make much sense to me.
Point being, statemants made regarding daie by most members here don't always mean full support nor do they mean full disapproval...it's just a discussion on a single issue, which here, and to me, was daie's possible positive influence on upbringing of the youth.

I doubt that any coach in the world will have the full approval of all the fans , let alone Daei ( whom I still consider as a rookie)

But as far as his policy for injecting young blood , I have no doubt that it is to the benefit on this generation and next one. To be honest , I will be extremely disappointed if he selects Hashemian to Team Melli for obvious reasons , but have no real issues with the others.

What Daei has created in his short spell is a phenomena in Iran's football... and it will be remembered for generations of coaches , if he takes Team Melli to the World Cup depending on his current squad minus the so-called stars.

            It remains to be seen....

The only youth player he has invited is Ehsan HajSafi and with him playing in AFC championship and in Sepahan as a starter it wasn't a huge risk to begin with. Not to mention he has only played for like 60 minutes in 3 games. Are there any other youth besides Haj Safi that I am missing?
Other new invities are Rezai and Gholam nezhad and Memarzadeh? So how come there is this so called "Javangharayee" is happening under Daie.

Nobody in Iran consider Mayeli as a knowledgable coach, but he was the one who invited player like Azizi, Pashzadeh, Mansoorian to TM when they were a total no name and that is what I call "Javangharyee" "youth injection" in the team, invitation of 1 youth player to the TM who isn't even a starter hardly if at all can be called "youth injection".

Please list the youth players who are invited under Daie that I am missing (if any), maybe I am missing something here.
"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."
