I am away from home and had a lot of free time today and decided what the hell , lets watch saba-ss game.
I missed the first 15 minutes, but the final 80+ minutes was quite absorbing.
on many levels.
for me, this was the first time I was seeing Qom's stadium and saw how rowdy the qomis were with all the bottles being thrown at players ... foe AND FRIENDLY !!!! LOL !
but that's besides the point.
I was particularly intrigued by a few players & issues in the game.
I found saba's FESHANG-CHI an absolute pleasure to watch.
my god, where was this lad hiding?
I know this is just one game I've seen. but if he follows such levels in another 2-3 games, I'd say lets call him up at TM camp trials.
I mean he has replaced Asadi who has been quite solid for saba on the left. thus forcing karimi to take Asadi out of the left and place feshangchi instead. the lad is immensely skillful with the ball. and that kind of wild skills for a left back? that's just craaazy ! ( good crazy )
he was quick and pacey as well. and with nice crosses to boost.
I like the lad and think he has great potential.
but that is NOT the "accidental discovery".
you gotta wait for this one.

next issue is what makes alizadeh's throws more dangerous than a regular free kick?
really. can anyone tell me why we cant KICK the ball the same way he throws the ball, which creates such danger ?
the question's amazing in its simplicity!
is it the height of the ball? is it the speed of the throw? is it the point of landing? ( in other words, the trajectory )
so how come when alizadeh's throws there is so much anticipation that is absent in all these free kicks?
again, this is not the accidental discovery , either.

here it is:
I invite everyone to watch the saba-ss game again, if only to follow ASADI's performance as central back.
the guy was extremely solid and had a marvelous performance.
the icing on the cake was when he saved a goal on the goal-line also.
but what really interested me was his PACE and SPEED as CB.
isnt that what we're missing at TM? a quick-footed CB ?
he is experienced. he is multifunctional ( can whip zareh's behind as LB anyday of the week ). reads the game well. and has been among the better players/defenders of IPL in the past couple of years. but more importantly, he is FAST.
would it hurt if we tried him as an alternative to either aghili or hosseini against the more quick opponents ?
I say definitely not.
----------------------
I found Feshangchi, Nouri, Asadi and Kolahkaj as extremely high performing players in the game.
and what I like is all of them are young and have a bright future.
on ss camp, akbarpoor was lively, but his bad temper just ruined everything.
montazeri did well in defense as well.
