look at Ivic's team: it was based on solid defensive strategies ( and it worked . against much stronger teams of yugo, germany, ... )
branko's philosophy was also the same: the more defensive pose, the better
even Ciro wasnt very different from the above two. although he had slightly more flair.
Luka's teams have all shown a defense-oriented style than free-attacking games; foolad, ss-A and sepahan.
and there are many more examples of what eastern europe philosophy has tried to make our teams into more defensive units than offensive ones.
and what style is comfortable for Iranians?

obviously a less constrained and structured ( read mechanical ) football with lots of individualistic flair combined. a style similar to portugal, argentina, brazil, .... ( a more south american style than european ).
it's a different matter that our "standards" arent on par with the south americans. but the philosophy and NATURE of our football is the same.
