I wanted to ask do you have any images (especially club logos) and info about the older club football teams in Iran like Shahin, Oghab, Sanat Naft, Homa, Daraei....
Also a biography of Marhoom Dehdari would be good.
Also you should check the section about Iranian players, many of the info about players has been taken straight off of your website and no credit has been given.
    Here's the link.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor...an_footballers
Yes I am aware of that.
In fact one guy asked me thorugh email to provide him info about some players , he wanted a lot of info (volume wise) when I asked him what is he is using it for , he said he is publishing it on Wikipedia !!!

    Ajab Adam Por roo !!!!

Anyway , I have no problem with that , as long as it serves Iran's football.

    I think I have a piece a bout Dehdari......Let me check.

Thank you webmaster. There is much more to be done, and I hope more people will contribute to this ongoing project.
I decided to do this after seeing that there is very little information about Iranian football history and clubs, with the exception of a few sites.
Even a f***ed up country like India has more info available about it's football then Iran does. Finding the simplest things such as club logos is impossible. Most clubs don't even have websites with info about their players, club structure, management and history. In countries like Germany, France you can find books that will even mention the name of the water boy of the club on a certain day in 1931, but in Iran club establishment dates aren't even certain.
I hope people realize that they can add on info on these files whenever they want, and that the site is completely open to the public. The more people contribute the better it will be.

Note: I have added info about varoius Iranian stadiums, and added some player bio's as well.

Thanks Nokhodi and a little correction/suggestion

          Nokhodi Jaan,

Great work. II really mean it and it is not just formalities (Taaroof). I read Hassan Rowshan's profile. He did not score the goal for Iran in 78. Iran Danai Fard did.

Also, I was wondering if you can add a bit more to Hejazi and Parvin's profile. Hejazi's impressive performance in PeyongYang and games against Holland in 78, or when he stood in Iran's game against peru with an injured shoulder and how he tried to dive to prevent the Peru's foruth goal with an injured shoulder is till carved in my memory ( i was in my teen years then).

Another guy that deserve more is Ali Parvin. I am an Tajee and never was his big fan. But Ali Parvin was a great play maker and an offensive minded midfielder.

I also suggest to add Hamid Derakhshan and Parviz GheeleechKhani.

Thanks again for what you started.
"When I see the good in you, you get motivated, feel good about yourself and that creates synergy. It creates an environment where everybody can work better together. I think in the Iranian culture it becomes very ordinary to always see the bad in each other."
Afshin Ghotbi ( Former TM Head Coach)

Nasser Hejazi was the Takhti of our football.
Mohammad Panjali (Former PP and TM Captain)

I haven't done much work on player bios, I only created a bio for Enayati, Bezik, and Borhani. I have done almost all the work on the clubs though.
As for Roshan's bio, someone added that onto the site and copied it from www.teammelli.com
As I said before you can edit the site easily yourself. The project is not only mine. You just have to click on "edit this page" at the top.
And thank you for your kind comments.

              Afarin

              Well done Nokhodi.
I wanted to indicate that as you might well know some of Iran's clubs
              have their official sites.
As for Shahin, the club has launched it's official website.
If I remember correctly this is the address >

              http://www.shahinfc.org/

As for Shahin Bushehr currently in 1st Division, this is their URL>

              www.shahinfc.com

As for Roshan, he did score in the World Cup.
His goal came following his substitution in the game against Peru.
Roshan, the Ace Striker of Iran was faced with the problem of injury prior to the start of World Cup 1978 and he did not play very much in the World Cup
however he scored his World Cup Goal during the few minutes of his play in the World Cup to prove he was one of the best strikers of Iran's Football history.
Another remarkable performance by Roshan was in the World Cup qualifying
match against South Korea in Tehran. The games were played in group format and not in a knock out system and Iran had drawn 0-0 in Seoul and
in the return leg in Tehran and in front of 100,000 spectators at Aryamehr had fallen behind 0-2. Thanks to Roshan's brilliance, he scored two late GOALS ( If I recall correctly in the 88th & 89th minutes - 2 Decisive Goals within the last 2-3 minutes ) to change the score line to 2-2.
Roshan was very influencial in Iran's 1st qualification for World Cup however
when the World Cup 1978 started he was injured and could not put his brilliant talents fully at the service of the National Team.

Thanks Nokhodi for all the hardwork and everyone involved in this. I think this is a clear area fans need to work together for the good of TM. Let me know what I can do. Mokhlesim and keep up the great work!

Once again thanks for the kind words. Letting this post remain a sticky is very useful, as the more people look at the topic, the better it will be. If everyone even just adds one paragraph to a article that's great.
I don't want to ask anything from you because it's your site, but a link to the wikipedia articles related to Iran football on the homepage would be a good idea I think.
Also info about the older TM players would be great, and like I have always mentioned logos and history for clubs like Shahin, Oghab and Sanat Naft would be great.
                  Note:
I updated Ali Parvin's bio, and added a Sirous Ghayeghran bio as well.

Also can someone tell me when Azadi Staduim was officially opened and when it was built?
I know that it was built for the Asian Games but looking at www.teammelli.com 's archives I see TM was having matches there as early as 1972.

You're right, it's a error, they have only won it 4 times, from the info I have. As I said before, you can easily correct that error. That's the good thing about Wikipedia.

WOW. Great work Nokhodi. Unfortunately I am rather ignorant about the history of the Iranian league so I can only offer moral support! I am basically the cheerleader in this one!

I would love to put info on Wikipedia about those teams, but information on even the most mainstream teams is very hard to come by. I would like to add something about Banke Melli and Teraktor Sazi though, if any one has info on those teams (such as club establishment date), squads, or a brief history of the team, it would be useful.

                              Great Job Nokhodi (and others)!
I appreciate your commitment to Wikipedia. At first when I saw all these Iranian football articles I thought to myself: “Who the hell did all this work?” and “Where the hell did he/she get all this information?” because info on Iranian football is really hard to come by.

Here’s a list of all Iranian football-related stubs (mostly articles 3-10 sentences long), just click on 'edit this page' to add whatever you think is relevant:

                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javad_Nekounam
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arash_Borhani
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javad_Kazemian
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mostafa_Mahdavikia
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamid_Reza_Estili
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mehrab_Shahrokhi
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khodadad_Azizi (I’m personally offended by this one )
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reza_Enayati
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sattar_Zar%27e (NPOV issues!)
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali-Reza_Nikbakht_Vahdedi
                              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jalal_Kameli_Mofrad

Any contribution would be great whether you’re writing a new article or just fixing a grammar mistake. The PFDC effect on wikipedia has been immense threads like these could increase the number of articles threefold. In keeping with the tradition of the site though, remember that this isn’t about glorifying our clubs, players or national team. Try to represent views with as little bias as you can. (See:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NPOV)
Ex: Nosrati is also a very clever header of the ball and has scored several goals using this attribute. < Is not NPOV. Either way, there are no experts, and there is no ‘power struggle’ in Wikipedia, because there is no such thing as recognition for your efforts , so I’m not really here to tell you what and what not to do, I don’t have that privilege myself!
I suggest we work on articles extensively and one at a time, starting with TMs current roster, maybe using separate threads for each player isn’t a really a good method of gathering info. Any ideas?
