    PP-sepahan game

did you guys notice how different Sepahan was playing between the 1st and 2nd halves?

Maybe I was a little bit sleepy, but what I noticed is that in the first half, Sepahan was playing a fast tempo game and they were pinning PP into their own half. Sepahan's defense line was playing almost on the half-field line, and their strikers were pressuring the PP's defense line.
things changed in the second half, and Sephan's defense barely got involved in their attacks.
I think the credit here goes to Ghotbi and his subs and tactic change. There was lots of criticisms of De-Carmo, understandably. however, the introduction of De-Carmo is what gave PP the edge in the second half. the way I saw it, PP's players were old and slow (Karimi, Bagheri, Niki,...) Sepahan saw little danger from giving space behind their defense. and Niki was always in offside anyways. but when Decarmo came in second half, they could not give him that much space because he is fast, also PP changed from 4-2-3-1 to more of 4-4-2.
IMO the credit goes to Ghotbi for this win. of course maybe I'm totally wrong here ...what do you guys think??

Good points, but I want to add that this is not the first time this season I see this tendency from Sepahan. Against EsEs, the first half they totally dominated EsEs and deservedly took the lead without EsEs even having any dangerous chance for the entire half, while they had a few good ones and converted one of them. In the second half though, as the match went on they ran out of gas more and more, got scored on and almost lost. Against Zobahan, almost the same thing when they lost and last week against Peykan, they were in front if I'm not mistaken, but lost eventually.

Credit to Ghotbi for bringing in DiCarmo but that's about it.

Most of the fault should be given to Firat for his thinkings and his subs.
First of all he brought in jafari instead of bringing a ready Armando whose crosses and runs down the right hand side could have really caused some damaged but Firat preferred to go with the useless Jafari.
This game was easily given away to PP by FIRAT.

It's not the first time Sepahan have been in trouble in the 2nd halves THIS season.
As they say this is coach's half so....yeah.

I read an interview by Emad Reza after the game and he said Sepahan's main problem this season has been "Fitness of Players". Now that's a reasonable excuse...But whoever watched the match can see Sepahan didn't really ran out of steam but rather looked like a team with lost concentration.

      GRACIAS PEP

I agree about the fitness issue. I don't think any IPL team has fitness for this kind of football. even TM is suffering of this fitness issue. this is all come back to the preseason training. I hope clubs focus on fitness in the mid-season break, for the sake of TM if for nothing else.
Firat made his mistakes also. I don't know why he changed Bengar, he seemed OK to me. And he payed dearly for that sub once Aghili got sent out.
But i still believe Ghotbi outsmarted Firat in this game.

Overall, it was a good game, one of the best I've seen.

Bengar was injured, he was in Turkey before this and is suffering from a torn in the abodman muscles (mid section, sorry I don't have detailed info). Aghili and Bengar were the wrost players of the Sepahan that day. Both goals first Bengar not hitting the header before Bagheri and Aghili loosing marking of Nikbakht on the second goal, were the result of mistakes by Bengar, Aghili.
