What is with " Aghili - Hossaini " combo ?

Aside from the result we got against South Korea....
    Aside from the coaching.....

Please, correct me if I am wrong.........Did any one see differently ?..have you noticed any ball returned ,by head,on the first touch, by our central deffense ?
This is an interesting statistics.....Our central defense ,could not make one, even one !, first touch , towards any of south korean crosses against our goal !....Even though they could not take an advantage of the situation, ..The supposedly short Koreans , had thier way ,on the Air in our Box all day long !...............
is this a short comeing in talents ?, or the coaching ?

bahram jan, I beleive this combo is acceptable in certain situations like facing a physical or slower team.
But against a speedy team like korea, it was always apparent that they'll come up short in some duels.

and since we're talking about defense, I must say I'm quite disappointed at how our team hasnt been coached on how to DEFEND against a set piece and what are the tasks for the players.

on the korean goal, only aghili tried to come back and aid the keeper. everyone else just stood there! It's like they never thought there would be a rebound!!!!

whereas the koreans knew their duties and right after the kick 4 players moved in immediately expecting a rebound!!

on this note, I'd like to know what has been Ruttemuller's contributions to TM, if we still make silly and amateurish mistakes like this ?

i must also say, with 2 DMs in the team to distribute the ball, 2 fullbacks on the 2 sides, hosseini and specially aghili still prefer to just kick under the ball for hashemian or bagheri..it was frustrating how we kept losing possession like that!

I have never been too thrilled by the combination of Aghili and Hosseini. Individually ,they are not bad ..bordering average , but collectively they lack in many skills and they do not perform the covering part very well.

Notice the Korean equalizer. A free kick that was very well saved by Seyed Mehadi , the ball rebounds...and see how many red Korean jersies were at the ball first versus the stagnat and heavy Aghili-Hosseini and further right Kaebi !!!

I have always maintained that Team Melli requires a defensive coordinator or coach.....This is specially true when the defense is vurnable. It only takes one chance per match to ruin a whole dream. This chance came in the Korea match and could very well repeat itself in Saudi Arabia game.

Kaebi ...must have a long lay off until he cools down and plays like a professional. This is either his 9th or tenth yellow card in two seasons for Team Melli....Daei must look for an alternative to him. I don't beleive for a minute that he is indespensible, either.

I've said it for so long: We need a player in CD of the type of Golmohammadi. A player who does not pannick, like our Mr. Aghili, who, even with the nearest opponent 20 meters from him, just shoots under the ball as if it's rugby.

We need at least one player at the back who is calm and knows how to read the game, how to pick up a ball and move it up forwards to our midfielders properly!

When you play with 4 defenders and 2 DM's in front of you (both ae quite techniquall for their position) who know how to distribute, then why the hell just shoot the ball upfronty blindly to a forward who's totally alone on an island between 4 Korean defenders?!

It really pisses me off how specially Aghili doesn't understand sh!t about building up an attack and just blindly goes for a long ball even though players next to him and in front of him are totally free.

And not to speak about his slow reaction on the goal we conceded

          Daei, give Montazeri a chance!!!!

Not a fan of the long balls, but I think that was our tactic when we had a stationary center forward, Hashemian, and our attacking mid, Bagheri, is more comfortable on the long balls than ground.

Otherwise, I have seen different ball distribution from Aghiliin other games, of course not from Hosseini. So, I think he is able to do so.

so i'm not the only one who was shaking my head in disbelief, everytime neko would drop back to do what a specialist of his kind does - gather the balls from short distances from defenders and distribute accordingly, but remain empty handed as the ball was rammed the length of the field...

i can't believe how many times we lost possession with hosseini and aghili simply rushing and blasting the long balls...

              so distraught right now...

Yeah,Aghili played like a donky kong.
                just kick and kick,no brain.

Who is solid CD who have good long pass skill? ===Hadi Shakouri.
Who is solid CD can contribute to attack? ===Montazeri.

Daei should try Shakouri and Montazeri or Nosrati,S.Rezaei in not important friemdly match.

Traditionaly, in all teams...one of these two posts, must be a take charge resposibility..as to be more stable...and the other could be assigned differently, depending the opponanat....
But, these two ,appear to not know who is encharge of what !
Who should touch the high balls first ?
                  who plays more " Libero ",and a " sweeper " ?
Who stays back, who goes to front ?
How to distribute the balls,? ...
What to do on the counter attacks ?
What is the realtion to the corners backs ? and DM ?or what to do on corners ?
many of these ,are the job of the coaching staff..but, allowing the Koreans to get the first touch all day...is just, lack of understanding the duties !
