the biggest difference between our team and the good teams is that our players are so emotional. I sometimes wonder how they have made it this far..

Watch the game from the time KSA tied it. Look at the body language, look at the emotional take over.. and it kept getting worse.. but compare that to the way KSA played..

they were calm even when they went down.. and they needed this game more than we did..

we can't make up excuses for this game and the way the whole team got out played and out coached.. there was no Arab ref or Bahrainee fans or arab grass rollers.. KSA played a well planned, well executed game..

we on the other hand, just played emotional football, from the beginning to the end.. and this is not something that can be pinned down on Daie alone, although he is not without fault for today's loss... He really made very poor subs.. and didn't even make the third sub, among other mistakes..

we have a long way to go, to reach the likes of SK, Japan, KSA.

my dad said it best - psychologically, we have ways to go.

the funny thing is, when we're behind, we usually do a decent job coming back (obviously, we ran out of time - 2nd saudi goal was far too late).

when we're ahead, we fall apart psychologically - usually teams have a problem with the reverse.

If Blazevic, Branko, Ghalenoei, Daei etc, couldn't make TM look like a decent side, maybe we are simply not a decent team. It's not because of the coaches but just that we are an average Asian team with 2 or 3 good players.

I would argue that under Blazevic and Branko, we were excellent. I know other fans weren't satisfied, but the results we were getting during that time (2-1 Iran v Japan, 2-0 iran v NK etc.) in our qualifying campaign were more than satisfactory and we made the WC with a game to spare.

I have to agree. Under no coach anyone was satisfied about the displays. I just don't know where our expectations come from.

Baba ghorbone on dahanet aziz. That's exactly my thoughts. Name one coach that made people 100 % satisfied? Agha the problem is not the coach. We are just an average team in Asia and we have to accept it.

1- NO coach is without losses. even the best of them ( fergi loses by 4 goals at home, for example )
                lets remember that.
but then we have "losses" and we have "losses"
there is a thing called "avoidable loss" also.

2- nothing is absolute ( 100% ). everything is relative
in OUR situation, we must see who has the LEAST drawbacks and deficiencies when choosing coaches

3- I am willing to bet with the current squad, with a few changes & replacements , if we choose the right players for the right posts , we CAN get better results than what we've got so far.

... so in assessing the true strength of a nation's football, there are other factors that have to be included, like infrastructure, clubs, youth system, organizational and managerial strengths, .... etc.
Results are everything. If the infrastructure, clubs, youth system, organizational and mangerial strengths are of a high standard, this will be manifested in the results of the national team.

Again, results are the only relevant factor.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

                    then let me correct myself.
ONLY "results" cannot be the deciding factor. there are other, related and unrelated factors involved that need to be considered as well.
