    Today's NAVAD program with MK

I only have ONE BIG problem with this navad program:

ferdosipoor shd NOT have held that poll.

our TM players shd NOT see their ppl lose hope in them and think they are losers BEFORE they've even played that game!

I think that poll was one of the most destructive and unnecessary polls among many other brainless polls at navad.

ppl may hate MK. but this poll went BEYOND MK and was a reflection of ppl's lack of trust, lack of confidence and lack of belief in the TEAM and its players also!!!
exactly the LAST THING our players shd be exposed to, when they need all the support, confidence and morale boost they need to mount any kind of offensive away from home.

    absolutely horrendous move by ferdosipoor!
    very immature and childish.

I absolutely and utterly agree with you.....

This is mind boggling act ....I don't know what Adel is trying to prove but he is not doing any service to Team Melli by showing that people have lost confidence...

Does he think that the players will be motivated by this ????

on a side note , Adel did an excellent job on MK although it was getting too personal to my liking towards the end and allowed MK too much propaganda time.

      I fully agree Dr. Doom.

But I agree even more with the sentiments expressed in maij's last sentence. Let us not miss the forest for the trees. The interview was pretty noteworthy. Ferdosipour deserves credit for the grilling he gave Mayli-kohan. But as Maij said, Mayli-kohan was given too much propaganda time to just say whatever he wanted.

even on most of his pressing issues with MK, I think it was rather immature.

I dont know how else one has to explain to these idiots in our media that these are NOT your everyday circumstances where anything goes and you can say ANYTHING you want and however you want !! what did adel try to achive?
berate and degrade MK so much that either MK himself resigns or kaf et al, suddenly reverse their decision?
        really?
what was the point in all that extra comments?

unfortunately we are in a unique and quite precarious situation where the team needs every little bit of support and confidence to do the mission almost-impossible.

by belittling their new head coach are we looking for a bunch of players who will do everything under this coach, now?
they already have some opinion on MK. fine.
but we dont have to make it more known or worse.
and remove that little probability of him being able to MORALLY RALLY THE TROOPS and get them back on their feet, chest out and ready to go to war.

is this the way we prepare them?
by belittling their general and showing the country doesnt have any confidence in them?

it was wrong when daei was in charge. it is VERY wrong now , given our present situation!

Hm, I'm not sure. It also takes pressure off the players. Most are not expecting TM to qualify anymore, so they can only win now.

I would have prefered an "Is MK the right coach" poll, but that would have been devastating for MK I guess.

look guys, you may dislike or even hate the chap.

but right now, it is NOT about MK.

just as it was NOT about Daei
... but daei always believed it was ( and that was one of the reasons for his downfall and persecution complex )

we have a situation that has to be handled very carefully.
it was always difficult from the moment we got the groupings.
form the very first game in saudi.
and as it went along, with dropping points, it got more & more sensitive and difficult.

              until we reach today's situation of being 4th at 6 points, with SK @ 11, NK @ 10, ksa @ 10.
meaning 4 point difference, two very tough AWAY games, a nightmarish travel scenario & schedule.

add the morally damaging loss in azadi to our nemesis too.

put all that together and we see this IS a unique and highly sensitive situation that really doesnt need the slightest hit.

My God, we need to win against the dark horses of the group on the road and beat a pushover at home.

It's football. No need to be that sensitive.

if we were starting the campaign, I'd have agreed with ur statement above.

yeah ... if we HADNT dropped point after point on the way to here-n-now !!!!

wow. suddenly with daei gone, any "donkey" can lead and win , "we just have to win 2 games" ... etc , eh ???!!

and you wonder why ppl find your comments double standards and hypocritical!
clearly shows ur bias and wrong priorities.

So you are suggesting that our players, federation and coaches should not be exposed to the reality? They should close their eyes for the greater good??
My friend, this is a backward way of thinking.

polls, stats and figures about the trust of fans and people is ALWAYS a good thing, no matter what. The more everyone is in touch with the reality, the better it is. Measuring people's happiness and opinions is what is lacking in our country.

you cant just become an ostrich and stick your head in the ground and refuse to see whats going on around you. Sure you will feel good, but your big ass is exposed and is sticking out of the ground.

I am amazed to see that people here agree with Doctor Doom on this.
We need transparency in our football. poll or no poll, the fans have lost confidence. AND THATS A FACT AND A REALITY. so knowing the reality is ALWAYS a good thing and not knowing is ALWAYS A BAD THING. Dont forget that.

It doesn't even matter if a poll hurts our morale and confidence (which I believe it will not...we lost confidence after losing to Qatar in 1997, we made it....we lost all approval rating in 2001, but we almost beat Ireland and made it...etc etc). You think if the players had not seen the poll, they would have thought our country was brimming with hope and fans were writing love poems to our players? No, they live in Iran, read our papers, listen to the chants in the stadium, and just like us, are aware that the masses are down and defeated.

We were full of your so called 'morale' for the Saudi match weren't we? what happened? Who are us to decide if a poll is unnecessary or destructive? This is just like the AKHOOND mentality who don't believe in polls because they think that if (god forbid) the majority vote against the presence of an Islamic Republic, it will destroy the country and bring the nation into a state of chaos. lol

Asking people's opinion is destructive? Knowing the reality of our shattered football is destructive?

I think Adel's polls are the ONLY tool for asking people's opinion in IR these days

Vala bekhoda it's not as bad as you all think considering other options weren't any good either really....
Anyways, we might actually beat Nkorea away somehow, even with MK...trust me things haven't gotten worse, we already had an unqualified coach on the bench, we just replaced it with another bad one, with lit more experience.

i agree with hadi but i would like to rephrase it this way:

with this poll, mayelli kohan now has a clear idea of wat the nation is expecting of him
and whether the majority would have voted for YES or NO, both could be looked at from a positive and negative angle.

                        if majority vote for YES,
the positive is: mayellikohan will feel the supported and his people believe in him.
the negative is: there will be pressure on mayelli kohan that if he fails, he is going to be crucified

                        if majority vote for NO,
the positive is: mayelli kohan will be less pressurized because he knows expectations arent very high, so he doesnt have much to lose. BUT IF HE DOES MANAGE TO TURN THINGS AROUND, THEN HE WILL BE CONSIDERED A GOD!
the negative is: he might feel that people dont have enough belief in him.

so no matter wat the poll results are, there is always a perspective of choice.
all that matters is how we look at the results and interpret them!

I think there is plenty of reality for all the players to feel the weight of the situation. PLENTY of it.

so much that there is no need to add "ppl's lack of trust and lack of confidence in them" to the fray.
Do make the distinction here. there is no "digging heads into the sand here". everyone is quite aware of the dangers & gravity of the situation.

But to undermine a team's morale, just when we shd boost it to craete some little chance of overcoming the odds, is plain crass and destructive.

there is a difference here. this is NOT transparency as if had adel not conducted the poll ppl would think we're gonna waltz into the WC!! ( is that what you were thinking until the poll ? until the truth was revealed to you ?)

was our desperate situation some great state secret that ppl were too dumb to know about, and it had to take a "revelation" to disclose this deep dark secret?
                          really?

this poll was nothing but an immature, poorly thought knee jerk reaction we Iranians, are slowly becoming famous for !!!

During an Hour programming, Fedosipoor never once asked about

                            1-Who will be assistant ?
2-Which new players might be invited?
3-Which game is most important ?
4-How many staffs TM will have ?
                            etc.....

There was only about passed, and critisizing.....

How ever, I saw nothing wrong with the Poll...as a 70 million nation should not be treated like a 5 member family, and people must know everything....
