    Ghotbi

I guess this deserves a new thread.

So what to expect from Ghotbi now?

I guess one major thing will be the inclusion of Ali Karimi.

    What else?

    #2
OK. Ghotbi got the vote of confidence ... this time .

What shd we expect from him?
Those of you who have followed him & PP more closely than many of us ( armin perhaps ) can let us know if he had any differences and problems with prominent players like niki, karimi, ... ?

I know khalili will be delighted to have him back.
but I'm not too sure about niki & karimi.
    any insights?

    ---------------

secondly, he seems to be able to convince the IFF to agree with 2 dutch assistants.
Now, I'd say even if they are simple trainers I'd be happy. But if any one of the two can add to the technical aspects and game reading of the bench, I will be delighted.
Any clue as to who they are and what they do?

    ----------------

And finally, I must say his knowledge of asian opponents ( koreans especially ) will come in handy for us.
I also assume he will be respected by majority of the TM players. at least hope for.

There had been rumours his preferred choice would be Rene Eijer last time.

      Roda JC's women's team coach...

I hope Ghotbi gets us qualified but then leaves. We need someone experienced and able to take us into the WC and not embarress us. To give our boys a fighting chance. I don't see that with him.

Although, at the moment, he solves many headaches: he will get the team fit and organised, and will not start unnecessary side-issues. He also has charisma which is needed for our situation. But in the long run, he has shown he cannot deal with pressure and there are many questions about his coaching quality still.

Considering what we all have been through, and what is realisticaly possible.......I guess his appointment is the most welcome news !
It is clear now, that he did not have as good a " lobiests ", as our " mansoor ", believed he had, since, IFF did its most not to hire him, untill it had no other choice.
His over enthusiasm is most welcome now, specialy by what he has started his campain with : " South africa should get ready to welcome TM " !!!
His ignorance of " mafia " in Iran's football is a blessing, and players should appreciate that nowmore than ever.
because of his recent unemployment, and his constant possibility of getting the TM job, must have made him more prepared for to TM,than perhaps even currant league coaches.

well, going by that, the guy's resume is better than ALL of our former TM assistants combined, in the last 10 years..

Rutemoller's resume was better than this and remember Blazevic's assistant was Ivankovic who didn't have a bad resume either.

Rutemoller is still around.. isn't he?

and yes, Branko was a good assistant to Chiro.. but after that year (and for years before that) we have had the likes of Faraki, Shahroukhi, Ibrahimi, Peyrovani, Ebrahimzadeh.. to about a few months ago when Rutemoller came in as IFF's "modeer fanee" or something.. Hooman was our assistant..

Agha I honestly don't see why you and Martin seem to be laughing about this. It's very indicative of a prevailing mentality which has hurt our society over centuries. I teach at colleges and most of my bosses here in America are women, they also make multiple times more money than I do. We have women pilots, surgeons, lawyers, actresses, CEOs, and so on. Maybe our cultural norms are the main reasons why Iran is so behind compared to the first world and industrialized countries????!!!!

He has FIFA A-License, worked with Guus Hiddink as analyst, with Advocaat as assistant, was analyzer and scout in US, Korea, knows the Iranian football having been in charge of Iran's largest club last season, won IPL title with a team that played organized football, speaks Farsi, has charisma...

                            =

                            the best choice for now!

I am not worried about his dutch assistants... Ghotbi is the headcoach, he just needs good trainers, and if he has selected specialy those, than he knows why... thats not any issue I am worried about.....

what worries me is the stupid "hashiyeh sazi" by those word twisters, whom Ghotbi referred (very rightly) to "what you do with humans, not even animals would do to animals"....

                            still..... This is good news

First of all I wasn't laughing. And second of all this is not a gender issue but simply the fact the women's football is behind men's football a lot still, whether we like it or not, and therefore, as a matter of fact, not quite the best coaches are currently working in that department. Not to talk about Roda's women's team.
