One interesting fact about Barcelona's youth system is that players play regurlarly in all positions until they are 15 year-old and only then they are asigned the position in which they excell and that they will have to play the rest of their career.

barcelona is in this situation because of a good youth system + a group of talents coming together during the same era... otherwise how come the same barcelona couldnt do anything until a few years back?
or like kaz said, other european powerhouses also have good youth systems but still cant play like barcelona....

good youth system can only get u so far.. good talent pool + good management + good scouting system is also needed.

but definitely, iran needs a strong youth system since the talent is there in abundance, but without a proper management and plan of action, even then, we wont be able to do much..

One more suggestion for the future of our football .

I realy believe, we should give our universities,some spots in the league....

Two Top teams in Mexican leagues, are " Pumas ", which is UNAM, that is the team from university of Nam,in mexico city...and the " Chivas " of Guadalajara,is also from university of Jalisco............

In the NFL, they get players, out of University championships......

Universities, not only have facilities, but also have more educated players....and players who learn from coaches with proper education can advance much faster than , uneducated street talents.

Your comparison is wrong buddy, They buy at younger age, they don't develop.

I talked to this Brazilian dude, which by the way is somebody who knows stuff, he explained to me how they hunt talent and sell them to big clubs. If you are 12 and you are not picked by some one, forget about any career in soccer.

Messi was bought when he was 10 or some thing.

of course they catch them young, and from all corners of the world be if africa or south america or eastern europe. but young doesnt mean an 8 year old.

I agree with that. No one obviously expects Iranian clubs to do anything remotely close to what Barca club has done.. we are not even on the same planet.

but having said all that, Foolad and SS Ahvaz used to have a very good recruiting program..I don't know if they are still doing the same they used to do a few years ago..
