Lets Guess the line up vs NK !

Payman just mentioned if we have one thing going for us, it will be unpredictable line up and coaching....and I also noticed,we did not have any thread about NK here in F +, although we talked about them in other threads.

with all the confusion about our left back, and our one or two DM, and too many midfielders we have, and the tough cookie that NK is...indeed, it is not easy..for Ghotbi to come up with the set line up ...

im not sure though if karimi and shojaei will play like that or will he switch their positions considering shojaei's position in osasuna...

its not my idea lineup, but i can live with it. im only worried about mohammad. he seemed too nervous and out of place in the last game. i really think pejman nouri will be a better option...

Totally agree with yashar. That is the most likely lineup. Basically the three behind Hash are the question. I'd say those three yashar put are the favourites, but Khalatbari, Zandi, maybe Madanchi have chances too.

khalatbari unfortunately had been benchd by ghotbi in both friendlies. madanchi and zandi are questionable, although i think zandi has a higher chance than madanchi.

but, we have a reasonably good bench and some substitutes who have the ability to turn around the game in any minute. under daei, most of them were young and inexperienced, which was a bit scary with jabbari and madanchi usually being the only subs who could do something. khalili was there but got injured too early....

im optimistic about this game, we can do it. if we make good use of our chances, and if our players dont commite stupid mistakes, we can beat them.

1- if what we saw from mohamad was his TRUE capabilities at LB ( and there wasnt any "deliberate screw up and lax play premeditated by the coach), then I wouldnt want to see him there and I'd trust Nouri more for that post than him.

2- Kaabi will start purely on experience. But if it was on efficiency and defending capabilities, Haydari would have got the nod. coz both are efefctive in going forward, however, kaabi's constant shortcomings ( pun intended ) was his lack of height and inability to effect any pressure on his mark on crosses coming from the left.
his marks usually rise above him and do their stuff with little trouble coming from kaabi. haydari, however, is a bit more physical and bit taller and can at least throw them off or cause enough trouble to deny them a clear opportunity.


3- seeing ghotbi's bias towards ashoobi, I doubt he'd bench him. especially since we're going with this crummy 4-2-3-1 and ando by all reason & logic shd be in there for his great work rate and superior interceptions and tackling.


4- Kia will play definitely. and I think he may start. coz ghotbi wants as much experience on the pitch as possible. hopefully kia can pull along for 90 given the koreans' pace ( uae however would be easier for a 90 minutes of kia ).

5- you can be sure karimi will play, whether ghotbi likes it or not. this inclusion is like a shield and insurance policy for him.
it's just sad it's come down to this, coz by all rights and sense, given our need for a win, any coach shd make sure his team has a playmaker. and THIS shd be the reason for inclusion of karimi. not escaping the wrath of millions of fans!


6- the left flank is the most ambiguous and unpredictable for everyone and almost any name can pop up in the line up.
from the slow but technical zandi, to the quick footed madanchi, to the technical shojaei or even khalatbari's pace and scoring ability may be reason enough to use him there.
but the balance is tipped towards a Zandi start, again, purely based on ghotbi's insistence on experience.


7- VH is almost 99% sure to start as the guy stranded up there in between 2-3 defenders and if this goes on, I doubt we'd see much improvement in his stats for TM !
sad, becoz he's a fighter and becoz of lack of service and over-crowding by his markers, he spends a LOT of energy coming out of the box to receive balls or passes.
and that, effectively reduces his efficacy, coz he's the type of striker who does his best INSIDE THE BOX, and the closer to the goal, the better. but he's forced to leave his most efficient zone simply becoz he's STRANDED & ALONE!

8- I doubt we need to look at anyone else for the keeper post.

9- same thing with Hosseini, who's almost guaranteed ... and rightfully so too.

if things go our way and god willing we score an early goal, I expect a little change in tactics.
I'd say instead of retracting, the MIDFIELD shd try to keep possession with continuous passing.
here, technical and skillful players like shojaie and karimi would be of more use than the likes of zandi or kia, as they can keep the ball and try their dribbling which not only maintains the possession as long as they're not going FORWARD into a crowd of defenders, and try lateral moves.

these lateral moves makes it easier to keep possession and the occasional foul on them will give respite ( and kill some time as well ) for the team and perhaps try a set piece to score.

seeing shojaei's game in recent months, I say this is where he'd be useful to a team. coz his defending isnt worth anything. and neither is his shooting ( yes, inspite of a goal vs ksa ). so maybe if we're ahead by 2nd half, shojaei can come in and do his shtick.

and obviously, khalatbari or borhani can come in for VH for counters, for their pace.

but the key is to score the first goal.

if we conceded first, then the first act shd be throw out a DM and bring in a second striker to allow VH some space to do his stuff.

I have never seen Andranik Teymourian play as sole DMF.

For the lineup Kazemian is a good supporting striker for Vahid and Khalatbari could be Iran's Messi tomorrow. If Kia can't do the 90 minutes then bring him out and put Kazemian in on the right side. Khalatbari could be the substitute for Zandi or Masoud. Since NK did not go to any world cups recently or have european experience one can say our team has more professional quality. VH and Karimi both played next to Ballack, and Zandi and Kia in Bundesliga for many years. Maybe recall the Mexico, Portugal, Yugoslavia, or Republic of Ireland matches and realize it's probably much better to go up against NK!

Kaabi could be the hero tomorrow if he shows anything like his 2004-2005. By the way who is going to be TM's PK taker this match?
