Ghotbi - Able coach or Smart Individual

anyway, from what I've heard, apparently ghotbi is trying to strengthen his bench by bringing in zob-ahan's assistant coach ( forgot his name. a young chap, but form the couple of times I have listened to him, I must say I was very much impressed by his game reading and theoretical knowledge)

now, THIS fellow can be a valued addition to ghotbi's bench that have looked as light-weight as daei's (although not physical weight-wise, mind you).

I dont know if zob are ready to let him go, coz I'm sure they are well aware of his value. but just wanted to say ghotbi has found the right fellow to zoom on and ask for.

- با قطبى به جايى نمى توانيم برويم و همين جايى كه هستيم، مى مانيم. ما پسرفت داشته ايم و حتى در مقدماتى جام جهانى به پلى آف هم نرسيديم كه اين مسأله نشان مى دهد، عقب گرد داشته ايم. ما با قطبى به چيزى دست پيدا نمى كنيم.

- قطبى در حالى كه قشنگ صحبت نمى كند، خيلى قشنگ قول مى دهد. او در مقدماتى جام جهانى هم خيلى وعده داد اما نشد. مسئولين مى گويند نتايج او خوب نبوده اما اگر بردن يك بر صفر تيم دوم امارات در تهران خوب است، پس آقايان از فوتبال خيلى سرشان مى شود. اينها نتايج خوبى نبوده است. اگر قطبى چنين وعده هايى مى دهد، كار سختى نيست. وعده دروغ يا حرف هاى قشنگ كه كار سختى نيست. من هم مى گويم ۳۰ سال ديگر با تيم ملى قهرمان جهان مى شوم، حالا با من قرارداد ببندند و پول بدهند، بعدش هم كه قهرمان نشدم، سرم را نمى برند. از اين وعده ها همه مى توانند بدهند.

- اين نظر همه است و نظر من به تنهايى نيست. تخصص كفاشيان فوتبال نيست دووميدانى است. آدم ها را با كارنامه هايشان مى سنجند كه كفاشيان در اين مدت در فدراسيون فوتبال كارنامه خوبى نداشته است. تيم هاى ملى ما در هيچ رده اى نتيجه نگرفته اند كه گل سر سبد آنها هم تيم ملى بزرگسالان ما است.

- كار شاقى نبوده است. ما در گذشته در جوانان و بزرگسالان قهرمان آسيا بوده ايم و سال هاى سال هم اين عنوان را داشته ايم اما با اين وضعيت الان آرزوى ماست كه در يك تورنمنت بين المللى يك جام ببريم.

Majid Jaan, thanks for the article...as such article help us find out how things may be presived in Iran.....although, there might also be some articles negating mr.ghasempoor as well.....
I agree with him as we should have brought some one stronger, as I have always been for the best in the world ,if possible......
Yet;...I wished Mr.Ghasempoor would name some coaches,he preferes,when he said, " we could have done better and brought a better domestic coach "
also, I want to know, if he said the same thing about Mr.Branko when he got the job first,with even worse resume' than Mr.Ghotbi, or many others in past,who were less than qualified.
many in football circle of Iran, always believed ,we should give chances to Iranian couches......and at this moment 5 years or so away from next WC, may be the best time to try an Iranian coach for time being...and " Top foreign coach " could wait......
I also like to know, where was Mr.ghasempoor,at the time of Daei selection for head coaching TM, and does he feel neccessary to put down Mr.Ghotbi at this moment.......And if feels Ghotbi has been given enough chance,likes of Daei were given ?...................
Mr.Ghasempoor could have waited a just little longer,after perhaps couple of losses by TM,and then stated his opinion..since, there are no urgencies at this moment, nor has Mr.ghotbi done any major damage within a very short chance he had .

The point here is not whether Ghassimpour said something and he should said something else , or whether Afazeli was sarcastic or Mohajerani is an old school or Ebrahimi has lost his Bale Khoone . The issue here is that none of the elites of Iran’s football , and I stress the word elites ( the Who is who) of Iran’s football , have anything complimentary to mention about Ghotbi or his appointment.

I personally think that some of the criticism against Ghotbi has exceeded the bound of decency , like the one by Khodadad Azizi , but that is an isolated case and something that we cannot do much about , it is the man’s style. Regardless to all these , the issues remains that the people who do count , the ones that have achieved something for Iran’s football by serving and playing for Team Melli , do not accept what this regime is shoving up the throats of Team Melli fans.

Do you mean,the regim has forced in Ghotbi upon Iranian fans ?
If so, I believe,you are being a little unfair...as Ghotbi repeatedly denied ,while many less qualified were given chances....

From a different point of view, I like you to also consider the followings:

1- Ghotbi is an outsider, and has no friend,and has no football people who grew up with withing the country./and has no Ally,as every body els does..he is the only one who does not.!!

2-Ghotbi,is from a western country, and his selection, may be concieved as an insult to the domestic coaches.

3-Ghotbi,is from USA,and land of the great shatan.

4- Which, previouse coaches of TM, had not have such articles written against him ?

Ghotbi's appointment as TM coach has got nothing to do with Daei..... Absolutely NOTHING.

Coaches of National teams are supposed to be selected based on qualifications , experience , achievements and competence, NOT because sometimes ago we had Mohajerani , Branko , Ghalnoei , Daei or Mayeli-Kohan and our selection of a new coach is based on the previous coaches characters and abilities!!!!

I did not think Daei was qualified to take over the coaching of Team Melli due to his limited experience i coaching, however , what was done was done.
One of the reasons that Daei was given the job was due to the failure of the IFF to recruit a foreign coach....and time constraints , however , point by point & head to head there is absolutely no comparison between Daei and Ghotbi. The only thing that Ghotbi has over Daei is his ever smiling and that silly grin that he always displays on his face , against Daei's grumpy looking always angry mood.

Bahram Jan , you are telling me that "he really has not failed us in a major way." , well..........he (Ghotbi) promised that he will defeat the Koreans and will take Iran to the World Cup , he failed to do that....what would you consider a bigger failure than that in football , I wonder !!!???

I meant coaches Iranian coaches that live in Iran & within the league structure.

We are very close in our views......,and I am under no Illusion who Ghotbi is........
We have seen the extend of the immagination of IFF, and I say,Ghotbi is defenetly not out of the IFF norm.....
I say , ghotbi with a 30 days time given, did far better than ,a year and a half Daie was given....and I am very convinced of that.

And Ghotbi Is Iranian.......His name Is " Afshin ghotbi ", and that is an Iranian name.

Are you considering the 30 days he was given to fix other people's mess as well ?
Do you know, how hard it is to change a team under such circustances,in that very little time ?
And, is it fair to compaire that with a year and a half that ,goof ball of Ardabil had ?...the one who thought he knew it all ? the one who had absolute authurity ?
I know, you are a fair man,payman jaan......keep the circumstances and the time at hand in mind.......
Ghotbi had 5 points from three games, with two away.....,while daei had 6 points out of 5 games,mostly home games.

I was not referring to the 30 days or other's created mess or ... .

I was referring to how he managed those games, from selection of players, substitution, game reading, tactics at different periods of each game, ... etc etc etc.
NONE of the above have any direct relation to daei's mess and failures.

Other than one bad substitution of Khalili,who came and left after minutes....everything els,is related to 30 days limited time !!!and all were reletively good disicions...
the selection of players were good,defenetly compaire to daei's tm.
The game plans,were not bad,and again based on the short understanding of TM players.
The player selection for the game, were much better, ....hajsafi project was good, but needed time to develope, the time Daei waisted.Pejman noori was also good, Ali Karimi, haydari, all were improvements to Daei's time, again in short time given.
People expected miracle from Ghotbi, ...It did not happen.....
But, if one wants to be realistic, he did great under very difficult circumstances.
