Does Iranian football have a future?

If the political climate in Iran improves, and the country normalizes relations with other countries, there is high hope all sports and football in particular improve. They should invest more money and effort into sports. Btw. I just realized Dejagah did not play for Wolfsburg this weekend; I hope this does not have any political reasons.

The future ( near future, I hope ) regim change in IRAN....will have adverse effect on Iranian football for the immidiate ten years after :

1- The massive subsidies of football and its propaganda use will end.
2-The population will be bussy with so many other issues.
3-The youth will have alot more option for its free time.
4-The country ,while free,will be in a big mess.
5-The economy will not be strong enough for the growth of proffesional league.
6-The top 50 players in IRAN will be playing in Arab leagues for one forth of what arab leagues pay them now,as astronomical pays in the league will be drasticaly cut.
7-The league will have half the number of teams,and one twentieth of budgets.
8-on the plus side,real Football personalities will lead the league.
9-Hezbullahi and regim supporters will be thrown out ...such as ( Parvin,Mayeli-kohan,Esteeli,etc,etc )
10-Parviz Ghelich-Khani will be the head of IFF.

Those youngsters always inspire our fantasy. We didn't see them fail yet, we project all our hopes and wishes on them.

Go back ten years and think who we all dreamed about becoming the next Daei, Kia or Abedzadeh. Out of a 100, not even a handful could somewhat fulfill the expectations.

Funny if we look back now trying to find the biggest talents of 2003 from todays perspective. Must have been Shojaei and Teymourian. Who had them on the list a decade ago?

I agree with you there is no such guarantee reservations.
During last few years there have been some changes that will have considerable impact on future TM candidates unlike to the past.

We have various leagues for various age groups and organized Youth national teams. They have Continuous trainings
, camps, international games participations .Talents are more likely to be discovered at early age now compare to the past but as you pointed out that does not translate to place in National team.

Current U22 players, all were members of previous U17, u19 teams and more likely candidates for TM. Some already made it however there are always outside of box talents that will blossom differently.
10 years ago there were no such interest, venue and means to cover youth and they did not get much publicity till they became starter for league teams. Shojaei, Ando came into prominent this way around 3003-4. We were talking about them then. Ando. Khbari, Jabari were of that age with Abomoslem when they were TM candidates. They were known and destined for TM then.

our youth are not failing. it is the system that is failing our youth. and I'm not limiting it to sports only. socially, politically, environmentally, economically, ... you name it, the system has f**ked up
