It is because they make a move for money but then end up playing for teams whose hearts do not belong there. Watch the same thing happen to Ale Nemeh in Sepahan. In general none of the Foolad players who transferred to the other clubs managed to impress much later on: Kolahkaj, Mirza, Mobali, Montazeri, Kaabi, Alavi, Sharifinasab, Sarlak, etc. just to name the domestic ones. With this amount of outflux in the club there is little opportunity for the players and their coaches to bond together, causing a tangible lack of synergy in the squad (and by the way the same problem extrapolates all the way up to the TM line ups.) Maybe a collective lesson to be had?

I think it is important to separate things in this question. Two key reasons why there are so many Iranian talents that never become full-blood professionals or Team Melli players is the lack of funds and resources as well as proper infrastructure and training facilities.

I don't think that the managers and coaches in Iran are less talented than their colleagues in Japan, South Korea or Australia (whom we first and foremost should compare ourselves with). But there are no real football academies in Iran, the football federation is not transparent and fully professional in terms of finances and management, the league has a poor tradition and there are very few clubs in Iran with a real history that players (especially young players) can identify themselves with. Clubs relocate and coaching personnel is appointed and fired constantly without any sense for patience or continuity. These things also contribute to the loss of talent that actually does exist. Why can poor African countries "produce" players that dominate the Champions League squads of the largest clubs in Europe? Why can Turkish football attract top class players and managers while Iran had a hard time convincing Clemente to sign for Iran?

There is thus no single reason why Iranian football and "talent production" is the way it is, there are so many things that need to be addressed and changed if Iran will have a chance of being the leading team in Asia with a constant export of young players to European clubs (where they can develop further) and inspire new talents back home to work hard for their success.

Iranian youngsters cannot say no to the cash that top clubs in Iran or UAE offer them as soon as they have the slightest breakthrough, and they move to environments where their development is prevented. They day Iranian youngsters can say no to the cash in UAE in order to wait for the "right" offers of decent (or even better) European clubs we can be sure that our league is strong, our players are good enough to challenge and that the development is moving in the right direction.

I'm sure there's even more to add to this topic
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

      "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today, Tomorrow will be dying."

zad-mahmoud had problems with luka. or to be correct, luka had problems with him and he hardly gave him time and that affects the psyche of the player in terms of motivation and dedication.
and in our amateurish football, if a player loses motivation and is sidelined for a season, in most cases that spells the end of his career!!!

ironically, he's ended up in a team that is now led by luka again!!!

same thing with Hamoudi, who was touted as a great alternative to kaabi.
after coming to sepahan from ss-ahvaz, he was out of favors with luka and he, like zad-mahmoud, was sidelined and had to leave to foolad.
and much like zad-mahmoud, his luck turned sour when luka joined foolad again!

for all his technical know-how, I'm afraid luka isnt a very motivational or inspiring coach ... as seen in mass exodus of foolad players 4-5 years back when he led foolad, then the sepahan mutiny by moharam, karimi, et al.

I like Zad Mahmoud, tall and solid physic, but technical player.

TM coach should pick up such a talented players for TM.

But Ghotbi always pick new players from PP (Nourouzi,Zarei and even injured Khalili)
          My favorite Duo:Karimi & Kavianpour

Zad Mahmoud was an example but by no means is he a unique example in the department of wasted talents.

I believe the problem is more complicated than just one simple reason. It is always the two sides that are at fault , the player himself and the administration (being the club , or federation).

By now , we all know how Iranian players can be notoriously undisciplined individuals both on and off the field. Most of them don't like tough training or tough regime of training system like the ones that some old East European coaches employ.

The younger talented players seem to quickly get affected by the surroundings and the media and as soon as they become half famous they end up with a chip on their shoulder. Their attitude becomes one of arrogance and immense ego even at early ages.

Professionalism and Money is playing a big part in a players career nowadays. We need to accept that the player will play for the highest bidder and things like lifetime loyalty for a club has simply disappeared in Iran. This has a negative effect in player's progress.

On top of all those, there is no official or recognized talent development system in Iran and as far as I know , there never has been any. I actually think that even the scouting system has disappeared and replaced by some other system like "Players agent " or "Dallal".

All these reasons and more , collectively means that many talents are wasted resulting in the poor production and output.

Talking about administration , AliAbadi has finally been relieved of his duty as head of Tarbiyat Badani , the de-facto ruler of all sports in Iran including football. In a separate topic , I hope that we can discuss his nightmarish era and ways to improve the sporting system in Iran.

              Short answer, very short:

              Soft muscles.

Too much money for not matured and developed talent.

Have you tested a green tomato?

Foolad should have kept Jalali. He had done a very good job with the team last year, just after their reappearance in the IPL from the division 1.

1- Why some African players are fought over, and get super deals from European teams ? and our legioners are either passed around,or benched ,or fired, or are just secound hand players whom till get fired ,do not let go of the little money they make ,..as thier football life is just a 9 to 5 corporate job ?

2- Why, so many players, immidiatly cash-in thier little successes, by signing with persian Gulf teams ,and they hardly ever improve there ?

3-Why we have never had a coach with steady successful record ?,or good enough in international contests ?

4-Why , our culture, ( consistantly ) seem to produce less talents in some positions, and more in others ?...which make to hire foreign players mostly in our short-comeing positions !
