Mullahs in the World Cup !!

I am sure most of you can't wait for the games - hoping for great football exhibitions by Karimi (let's hope he gets 100% fast), Kia, Hash, ....even Daei. We will all be watching the games in hope that our team does well - for one reason alone - national pride.

but have you thought about how the ruling mullahs in Iran look at the upcoming WC ? - we all know when it comes to akhoonds, there is no such thing as national pride. I think the mullahs look at the WC as a great opportunity - a great international forum for exposure. What would they want to expose you ask ? The akhoonds will be focused to: Show the love of Iranians for Islam and the ruling government !!! expect it !!

Now - Here are some of the things we may witness:

1- Players sing the so called national antheum louder than ever.

2- Some players wearing T-shirts with the words Y-Ali, Ya Hazrat Abbas,....

3- Players carrying Khamenei and Khomeini photos to the field.

    and many more,...

Now - question is: which one of the players are more likely to go along with such IRI propaganda ?? Personaly - I don't think players like Karimi, Kia, Hashemian, Kaabi, Nekounaam, will participate. but I have been wrong before !!

well don't want to get into politics but just because someone believes in a certain faith, it doesn't make him a mullah, I hope not to see any of those arab loving anti iranian mullahs who have currently kidnapped our nation and only have political purposes to be there, but I would have no problem with seeing an individual wearing a t-shirt with religious stuff written on it, regardless of the religion.

I don't want to get into politics/religious by going into details, but most of our players are dedicated muslims themselves, very gheyrati and put the national pride above everything.

So our players wearing a shirt with Ya Ali or singing the national anthem harder at the WC (note: the biggest event and the whole world watching) than they would do against Taiwan, wouldn't surprise me that much.

Players like Mahdavikia, Karimi, kaabi and Nekounam didn't give up on their religion when they got out of Iran, wali hanooz namazeshoonoh mikhundan wa hanuz mikhunan (I know Kia does, and am quite sure Karimi does too) and still are religious; that doesn't have much to do with the mullahs in Iran.
Persian Pride running through my veins!

        Esteghlal for life!!

I don't think wearing things like that will be allowed at the WC. I think the TM staff should be able to tell the mullahs, sorry no can do, (fifa don't allow it).

the problem with that is that mullas are the ones who control IFF, not the otherway around...iff poeple wouldn't be working in iff if they went against the mulahs.

The head of IFF is just as religious as the mullahs themselves. They wouldnot have their jobs if they were not.

My point was that FIFA will not allow that. And thank God, the mullahs, and neither the IFF has any power over FIFA!! (I hope not!!)

I know for a fact that Karimi is a strict muslim.

I'm sure he would be honoured to do doing things that revolve around Islam

E.g Carrying Pictures of Islamic Figures on the pitch

I would not go that far about him, and besides religion is a personal thing and we can not say who wants what and what doesn't want when it comes to religion.

I don't accept any of our players to be any more religious than the rest of us. When it comes to religion we are all pretenders !! they just "pretend" more than the rest of us - because they are under the microscope.

                        Interestingly enough -

It was just announced by Meybodi - that Dadkan is in Germany and is requesting from the German authorities to make preparations for Ahamadinejad to come to Germany during the WC !!!!!

Also in the news - of the 8000 tickets allocated to Iran - only 4000 were distributed (maybe to Hezis only) - the rest will be returned to FIFA !!!

Can anyone verify this news ??

Amirza jan, you have a good point that they must pretent a little under the regime, no doubt, but also let's not question their faith, whatever that might be, since it is personal and really up to them. TO be honest, all this aside, I would love to see Andi Teymorian selected for the WC, not because he is a good player, but to see a little sense of religious diversity in our team, which for years we had not have because non-muslims were not selected.
I hope to see that change and the player's performance on the field is judged and not what and how much they believe in a certain faith.

                            Funny -
I hear Dadkan is in Germany begging the Germans to allow Ahmadinejad to go there for the WC ? This is according Meybodi on Pars TV.

They also said out of the 8,000 tickets allocated to Iran - only 4000 have been sold !! the rest will be returned to FIFA !! !!\

How would you feel if Teymourian starts wearing Jesus T-Shirts ? How would IRI feel ?

well, to be honest, I don't know how I would feel, but certainly wouldn't want to ban him because of it, as long as his faith doesn't interfere with his games and the team, but IR is making our players be negatively effected when they take the players to ashoora for example night before a bid game. This for instance is something our players at least 90 percent of them would not do if left up to them, knowing the very next day they have to play a WC match.
AND I am sure IR would ban Teymorian from palying for a while if he was to do such a thing!
