World Cup chances for Iranian players

I would put Madanchi a level higher for "very good chances". Here is Branko's sub if every thing goes the same thing he thinks: Ando/Alavi for Hashemian, Madanchi for Zandi, Nosrati for Ka'abi.

I would bring in Olade for hashimian because we know dae will saty for all 90 min and we need some one that can run fast with good skill on the ball so that daie can pass to Olade is the best for that job.

I really think with his performance against Bargh, Nikbakht heavily increased his chances of making the WC squad.

I think the majority of fans believe our first game is the make or break game and most crucial .

which means we MUST get it right in that game.
in every sense. tactics. players. formation, ..... .

and which means, we MUST have a properly functioning LEFT side, alongside the rest of our team. one wing cannot be ignored.

now, we know these are 100% call ups as many of you have siad too:

mirza, kaabi, zareh, yahya, rezaei, nekounam, zandi, karimi, kia, daei, VH.

leaving some like alavi, nosrati, amirabadi, jabbari, teymoorian, borhani, talebloo, roudbarian as reserves.

( dropping navidkia who as it is , was out of form and been playing poorly. and now he's injured too )

I say, according to logic and rationale, we must include players that are IN FORM and at present are doing well. which means players like the following, shd get the call up:

mani'ee
heidari
enayati
mobaali
bakhtiarizafeh/bagheri

now, let step back a bit.
our first game is our most crucial and decisive.
which actually means, our first 60-70 minutes ( the time subs come in usually ) are our most vital ones.
which means we must get the starting line up perfect.

now, judging from the recent performances of :
mirza, yahya, zareh, and zandi , are we sure these deserve to START ?

1- when we have Mani'ee who is on fire , and plays very very well as the left winger. something that zandi is incapable of.

2- Heidari has been a giant for zob's defense, and has been one of the best 2-3 defenders of the league. considering the poor form of zareh ( whioch prompts branko's own brother to bench him !! ) , is it far-fethced to expect heidari starts instead of zareh ?

3- yahya also has not been performing well, and is even slower than usual. considering the immensely more productive performances of either bagheri or bakhtiarizadeh, who have as much , if not more international experience as yahya, but are in FAR better shape and form than yahya, .... is it illogical to think one of them starts ?


4- mirza's poor form is yet another worry. coupled with talebloo who is not only making far far less mistakes and have improved, but also is in form and fit, shdnt we be more comfortable with an IN FORM and ON SONG keeper, than a name who used to be good a year or so back ?

as we are given only 3 chances to try to advance, each game is of vital importance. ( it's not a big league where a team gets lots of chances to recover ). so every minute and second counts.

the first game is most decisive, we must be at our maximum best.

which means using the RIGHT players and the right system.
no use being stubborn and pig-headed over past decisions , just to prove one's words.
it's do or die time.

so wouldnt this starting line up make more sense, based on form and fitness?

as for the subs, borhani has scored a grand total of 8-10 goals this whole season. enayati has done more than twice that.
and is in form presently.
all he needs is a couple of 90 minute games and trust to settle in with the team.


so I think ( altho' I dont like him ) , he shd be our first choice for strikers, rather than borhani.

so shdnt the final 22 be:

heidari -> zareh ( altho' I prefer either sadeghi or montazeri to this fellow )

mani'ee -> zandi

the 23rd player could be Alavi.

which means, branko still has time to at least call up the right players and having 2 more games at hand ( bosnia and croatia ) he has time to play mani'ee, enayati, heidari, talebloo & bagheri/sohrab in the team and give them ample time to settle in.

beleive me, an in from player finds it far easier to settle in with a team than an out of form player who hasnt been able to do so in 2 years.

OK, Martin jaan, let me approach it a bit differently(Again my guess for what Branko will do).

Will be in WC:

DefMid: Nekunam, Alavi
Right Mid: MahdaviKia, Kazemian
OffMid: Karimi, Jabbari

Off the above, Alavi is used for both DefMid & CenDef. Kia is used for both defense and midfield. Nosrati is used for every position in defense! Kazemian is used for right and left midfield and right and left forward. Zandi is used for left and central midfield.

Madanchi has a long shot, if Vahedi fails the condition test in the camp, to replace Vahedi. If any goalie gets replaced, then Vaezi has the outside shot.

That leaves with 4 more players to select:

-I believe in forward, Oladi & Akbarpour will be in competition. My guess is Oladi.

-Teymourian can play both central and right midfield and is the second choice.

-If Branko decided to take one more central defender, Bakhtiarizadeh, Ansarian, Sadeghi, and Hosseini will compete. My guess is Hosseini, depending on what Simoez say about his performance in Vietnam as Branko and Simoez are working very close these days. If not, Ansarian has the shot.

-If Branko decides to take a wing defender, it will be Amirabadi. S.Rezai has the outside chance.

-If Branko decides to take a player up front, from Madanchi, Shojaee, Akbarpour he will take one or maybe two players.

He hasn't been called up a single time for a while now, with no real drop in form. If anything, he has been a shining star in the UAE, so if he was to be called up, it would have been in the last set of friendlies.

navidkia & nosrati were and still are both ciro and branko's favorite players.navidkia also has more TM experience than jabbari.
yes, that costa rica game, navidkia flopped badly, but after that, he played good for sepahan agian scoring and assissting regulary. unforutanely, im not really updated on his status now, and i said he is 1st choice sub assuming he is fit and on form. however, if he is not fit yet, then yes, jabbari will take his place.
So in conclusion, it all depends on their level of fitness in the camp. if they are almost on the same level of fitness, i think branko will prefer navidkia.

secondly, im not sure of madanchi either, but because my 23 players list were full, i decided to keep nikbakht and strike off madanchi. aftera ll, 23 got 11 main players, and if we have just 1 sub for each player, that already makes it 22 out of 23 players! so we cant have more than 2 players per position (unless some of them are versatile), and in my eyes, zandi and nikki will be our 2 players! thats again, based on nikkis improvement in the last few weeks. if brako decides he isnt on top form either, he will either for maneei or madanchi. manei has better stats in his file, but madanchi is first a perspolis player, and 2ndly branko might play him as an LB. i think as a left wing, nikbakht will be preferred over madanchi considering nikkis recent performance, but maybe madanchi will also be in the squad if branko decides to use him as an LB and then amirabadi/jalal akbari will be striked off.
