i personally think that the standby list is like a backup, incase of emergency one of these players will be used if no other options remain and clearly, branko doesnt have such plans for nikbakht!
maybe this will support wat im trying to say and also answer ur previous question that branko might use nikki for LB.
in this interview by kaveh mahjoob on goal.com (dated today), branko clearly says he will play zare/madanchi/nikki as LB behind zandi. so i guess we might see a zandi-nikbakht left flank.

P.S. amazing thread and valid arguments by all the users here, its a pleasure reading ur views guys. but i cant help not noticing doctor dooms extremely witty but slightly extreme and pessimistic examples like comparing TM to peykan. that was funny but quite unfair!
Thanks for providing the site for the interview..as I had not read it before...
I noticed, he is a little paranoide about criticisms.....yet he chose well,in my opinion......
And regarding the stand by list...I should say, it means what it says it means...and that is to stand by !!, which coach could bring them in,when and if he sees necessary, for any reason, or no reason at all, and he needs not to explain to anybody why................
Branko has high expectations on niki...that is for sure.
