You could have been to the wrong place

A family member runs a VOIP business in Tehran and has some sophisticated networking equipments that I have not even seen the like of in the Persian Gulf states, plus I have seen some great software designs and engineering from Iranian programmers that are simply amazing.....

Depends where you are looking. I would not under-estimate the Iranians when it comes to IT and computing.

On the negative side , the access speed of the internet is appalling as DSL broadband is limited and expensive,,,,,but then again we all know the reason for that ....
