On a seperate note, I dont' think Afshin will get any playing time.

Plus Ghotbi was in PP for 1.5 season, so he is much more familiar with certain players, so in a way he is probably biased toward players that he has been for a long time. Pezhman Noori is another example of his favorite player. It seems Ghotbi loves a player who plays simple, without extra touches, works within the team system (so called tactic pazir). Ashobi in PP under him is a great example that comes to mind.

Bottom line, it comes to Ghotbi's preference and since it is his neck is the one who will be on the line, I think we should defer right now and let him to follow his plan. If he is successful, well he was right, if he wasn't then we let the Barbeque!!!!!!! and Grilling of Ghotbi to start. I am sure Neda won't let an opportunity like that to be WASTED!!!!!
1- but pejman has justified his selection among the top 23. in both club games as well as national games.
hadi has not, be it in club or national.

2- I really dont see any part of ghotbi "on the line", be it his head, neck or whatever else. the fellow has already signed a contract with another team in japan and win or lose he's gonna leave anyway, taking his full salary and contract. even in case of a, god forbid, terrible showing in asia cup, he'll do what branko ivankovich did which is not even bother to come back to iran! (well, ghotbi may not come immediately and will definitely take his time to return)

so I really doubt about much of him being on the line. it's a win-win situation for him.
if we do reach somewhere decent, he wins.
if we fail, he still wins coz he's already got his contract and next job lined up, not to mention his full money from IFF
so you may fire up your BBQ ... but there wont be a meat to grill on it. the meat's already flown to japan (does that make him sushi to his japanese management?)

IMO Bakhtiar should have been invited , He is resonsible for sucess of Norouzi and Afshin.

He was expecting to be invited this time but he is not 20 yet and will have his chance.

SO,if that is the case....Foolad must have all the very best of the league in the offensive line....
Arash Afshin.....the third highest Goal scorer
Nourozi.......the best scorer of the league among Iranian players.
      and Bakhtiar Rahmani......

Indeed, there is a logic, when they say : " BREZILETE " !!

Ideal will be return of Kaveh.

He was injured months before Asian U19. did surgery. Unfortunately Mehralidoosti included him in his squad and played him as a desprate act that caused him reinjury. He has been recovering since and may get chance to play before end of season. When he return gradually will replace Bakari and that is exciting expectation

one or two players in or out doesnt make much difference.
I totally agree with your post. Even more importantly a player of Ooladi caliber won't be the difference between winning hte cup or not.

Your post mostly addresses issues with regard to Ghotbi scenarios after the Asian Championship, so I really don't think it is relavent to the original issue which was Ooladi's inclusion vs. Hadi Nooroozi. In regards to your last post, I think despite the contract in Japan, it will be a huge boost to Ghotbi's portfolio if Iran wins or finish top three in Asian Championship. Despite whatever money Ghotbi got in Iran, he still needs credentials for the rest of his coaching career. So regardless of he coming back to Iran or not, he will do his best. Since he is closest to the team and needs to have different tools at hand (which needs players with different traits in order to implement different tactics), I give him the benefit of the doubt at least for now. If team went over there and time showed Ghotbi's choices weren't right, we all have time to GRILL the man (of course if anything is left to grill after Ala/Nakhl/Neda is done with him.
