Heydari's trade-mark move:
1- Run with the ball on the touch-line as if you are racing Usain Bolt.
2- Stop!
3- Turn around yourself two, three times.
4- Give a back pass to someone standing where you were 10 seconds ago, when you started running like a mad-man.
That's me when I play PS3 FIFA11 I just suck at penetrating and striking through the opponents' defense and cleverly make short/mid range passes to my teammates, thus creating some fantastic scoring opportunities, so what I usually end up doing is to run to the corners and cross the ball (Bekesh ziresh) into the 18 yard box, hoping that it will land on one of my teammates' head or foot!
What you described about Haydari in such humorous way sort of very true, spot on observation!
Having watched German Cup round 1 this weekend reminded me that we shouldn't lose the overall perspectives.
Numerous Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 teams were struggling against third fourth or even fifth league teams, some of them, like Felix Magath's Wolfsburg or Werder Bremen even being eliminated.
It's not easy to play up to your potential basically during the summer break against an opponent playing their match of the year with not even thinking about risking a tiny little bit to score but instead only not to concede.
To be honest, after an acceptable first game with dozens of chances and four goals, who would expect our players to do more than necessary?

makes sense and very true.
however given the vast difference in the standing (and general qualities) of the two teams, it still came as a shock.
I guess with the start of the league and a few weeks of scrutiny by CQ and staff, by the first game against indonesia we shd have a pretty clear idea of what he aims to do, what he can do and how much he is capable of extracting from our football

Frankly , Doc , I seriously doubt that we will see a huge improvement and performance from what we saw against the Maldives. I would not bet on a eye-catching performance at all , instead perhaps a slight to moderate improvement (at best) and a tight result against Indonesia.
Queiroz does not have the time to make a difference comes September 2nd and I don't know how this ill-advised and poor timing of his leave will affect the overall team's fortune.

Excuse of the week.
Based on this observation, we will come back with 11 superstars plus 6 super-super stars on the bench when the hit of summer is gone.
You must have missed to watch the Maldive game and just checked the result. Otherwise You would see another record low of Iranian football performance. Again, I don't talk about the score-board, like you said in home match with 4-0.
Saying about Heidari, the rest of squad are not some thing above him. None of the current TM players showed some thing to be called "International".
Cheers,
Gosh hajAgha u do realize that we are competing in Asia..!? Not Europe/south America ..! Right..!?
Our Maldives squad is still better than 70-80% of other teams in this Region Let's not be all so negative ..!
Ps
IMO climate & field conditions could have profound effects on performance of the best of teams..! & off course motivation plays a huge role as well..! We were practically, already through to the next round before the away match begun & for 30-40 minutes there Maldives weren't even playing anything resembling football..!

Nah, but what TM showed in Tehran against Maldives what classes above what Wolfsburg (including a shockingly poor Dejagah) showed against RB Leipzig for instance. And there is little doubt Wolfsburg will be able to compete against much stronger teams in a couple of weeks.
^Surely football is not math and doesn't work on formula.
Let's see Iran got Wolfsburg's symptom and the fever is about the summer heat.
I doubt so as I don't see any quality in this squad. I have my reasons:
- None of the current TM squad is the best player in the same position in the last 15 years (1996). As a matter of fact, they are not even close to top 3.
- I was watching WCQ drawing. The program director summarized Iranian football with two scenes "Estili goal to USA" and "CQ". When I think, I would do exactly the same. The only good thing about this football is its coach and the only achievement we got was beating USA in 1998. From that time, we are going lower and lower. .... and I saw a record low just in last game.
So, I hope you are right and Iran got Wolfsburg's symptom.
it's only offered as a Set: take it or leave it..!
U must have missed some of those early Asian qualifiers under Ghotbi, if u think our last game was record low for TM..!!?
At least we can claim that Maldives failed to pose even 1 credible threat on our goal, in both ties..!
Did Rahmati even register anything that can be labeled as a "save" vs Maldives ..??? Whachoo talking about? Who's next? Malaysia ..? Yea baby... bring'em on..! We'll bury those ****roaches..!
