    A question to Branko:

lets go over a few facts here:

1- Karimi was recently injured and was out of action for sometime.

2- to recover FULLY from these injuries, it takes a while.

3- being so close to the WC games, a much lesser trauma to such injured players will exacerbate or restart these injuries.

4- mexico is not a team to shy away from playing a tough physical game.

5- karimi is arguably our most well known man ( after Daei ) whose style and game will have been reviewed by one and all opponents to TM.

now my Q to our master-mind professor/coach who invited these players is :

in case we start the game and one of the mexicans tackles karimi hard ( not hard enough for a regular player, but hard enough for one who just came out of an injury ) and karimi is to be taken out ( god forbid ).
whether for the match or the tourney altogether ( god forbid, again. but we've gotta be realistic here ).

WHO exactly is going to be our sub for karimi ?
    who ?
    jabbari is out.
    navidkia isnt even ready.
mobaali is the victim of your immature laj baazi.

perhaps your ammeh from croatia will take up shorts and play as TM's play maker, eh?

First of all, Karimi is already fit and surely will be 100% fit after three weeks of training camps, two friendly matches and a couple of training matches against amateur sides.

Second, with Zandi we have another player in the squad who's best position is the central offensive midfield spot.

Third, Masoud Shojaei is capeable of playing that position as well.

Fourth, should all three get injured, we yet can adapt the system or put Nekounam as kind of Ballack-like offensive midfielder (I think it was you yourself who said Nekounam is an OM).

Fifth, quit the nagging and try to create some euphoria for World Cup for once!

      oh, I see.

we have to pin our hopes on :

      - mexicans ignore karimi and not mark him or play rough with him.

      - also that he will NOT be like every other sports person ( or human being ) who will be more susceptible to injury than one who hadnt had any recent injury

      - also on the fact that till today the same shoja'ee was never even a part of the team, neither played with them in any real match up ( dont bother talking about 8th division locals , as we are NOT pakistan ) and hasnt had any int'l experience and ...

      - also that we shd suddenly put zandi where he shd have but was NEVER put ( due to branko's stupidity ) , yet he hasnt done either post any real justice.
talk about falling in between the stools.

      - same with nekounam, who till today was forced to play a defensive role which he is not exacftly suited for, but all of a sudden he shd change and play something else !!!

boy, there are a LOT of pinnings we have to do !!!

instead, we could have had a better comfort zone , which is obviously beyond branko's ability !!!

Why not, HE IS FIT and they can be rough. Otherwise he'd be useless!! Players are especially rought to players that just recovered from injuries, that's why you need to be sure to only line up fit players, which will be the case.

        - also that he will NOT be like every other sports person ( or human being ) who will be more susceptible to injury than one who hadnt had any recent injury
He was out for not even two months and started training more than a month before the opener. That's no problem, it happens all the time to players.

        - also on the fact that till today the same shoja'ee was never even a part of the team, neither played with them in any real match up ( dont bother talking about 8th division locals , as we are NOT pakistan ) and hasnt had any int'l experience and ...
Klinsmann also brought Odonkor who is an uncapped player (other than Shojaei). Eriksson brings a player who never played first league football (other than Shojaei) and we don't even have to talk about van Basten...

        - also that we shd suddenly put zandi where he shd have but was NEVER put ( due to branko's stupidity ) , yet he hasnt done either post any real justice.

Zandi played in that position a couple of times (Japan, North Korea), but when a better playmaker is available, he must switch to left side. No big deal, he played the position often enough in his life.

        - same with nekounam, who till today was forced to play a defensive role which he is not exacftly suited for, but all of a sudden he shd change and play something else !!!
He won't cry if he suddenly is allowed to go forward.

in the absence of karimi, zandi can play AM and madanchi as LM with zare in LB.

zandi shone in bundesliga 2 playing AM position. im sure he is quite aware of his duties there. besides, werent u the one complaining about znadi going too much into the middle and referring me to mansour's pictorial diagrams?

now u r saying its not a good idea to play zandi in AM?

              From the Bayern Munich website:

The Iran squad features Munich midfielder Ali Karimi. The 28-year-old has overcome a long injury lay-off after damaging ankle ligaments and was declared fully fit last week in good time for the World Cup. Iran are underdogs in a group also featuring Mexico, Portugal and Angola.

We have so many amazing midfielders that your argument is completely baseless.

By the way, you forgotten to mention how your favorites, Sadeghi, Shojaie, Khatibi, Kazemian were introduced into the squad...why am I not surprised?

Let's face it doc, you were ready to bash Branko long before the list came out.

Dr Doom vaghan deege shooresho darvordee. Why do you always want to create such a negative image. Are you a pessimist by nature? Answer Faraz' question about your faves being picked? I really don't know why you are such a pessimist? Are you paid to bash TM? Time for ALL of us to get behind TM (only 22 days left)

If there is only one player that fits perfectly as Karimi's sub, it is Zandi, and if there is only one position that Zandi can play is Karimi's position ....

Other players beside Zandi set for central offensive midfield in 4-2-3-1, in case needed:
                    a-Rasul Khatibi,
                    b-Masud Shojaee,
                    c-Javad Nekunam

Dr joon, khooneh del nakhor barat khoob nist. This one is out of the way, give us the next one.

With 23 payers in squad and 3 of them being keeper, we have 20 players for 10 spots. By average we need one player for Karimi, and that is Shojaei, besides we have Zandi and Teyourian also who can play in there as well.

No problem for the sub, however the question would be if they are even close to Karimi? hell no.
