I hope our boys (AND the coaching staff) watched england's first goal against ukraine. specially how the cross was done, even if the box was filled with a lot of players. a low, quick cross into the box where normally one would think there wouldnt be a chance an english player might connect with that many ukrainian defenders.
but that's exactly what I was talking about shooting from outside the box; you never know when you might get a ricochet in your favor. and that's exactly what the brits got. a lucky ricochet off a defender which sent the ball in a different direction and with too many legs and feet in the way, the keeper missed the ball and eventually it reached a player near the far post, only to tap it in.
now, this strikes someone who isnt a coach by profession. why shdnt it strike someone who makes a living out of it and has such a big name? why shdnt it strike players who charge millions and millions of salaries, but seem to be incapable of one clear, sane thought and idea?
