another part of CQ's half-assed campaign strategy is his interaction with media and pre-game prep, with emphasis on refs and calls.
the coach shd put pressure (indirectly) on the referees before our games. the same way many successful coaches in top level football do and have done for years. starting from his own boss, fergie.
before the game he shd say things like "we hope the avoidable or unintentional mistakes and calls dont work against us or dont cancel our legitimate goals or moves, as we've been hurt by these before, on many occasions". something to this effect, which doesnt directly accuse any refs (use of terms like unintentional or unlucky), but it still drives the point that on many occasions (against uzbeks, in kuwait, .... etc) many vital calls have gone against us and we will not let it slide by without calling them out. or his 2 game suspension for something totally small and negligible.
even in passing he MUST mention these two legitimate goals in his pre-game speeches. he MUST, but without directly ponting at the refs.
I really wonder why he hasnt done this before our games, especially against arabs.
another issue is play-acting and time wasting that he shd mention this BEFORE every game (post game is almost useless) against arabs. he SHOULD make an issue of this and bring light to this to put the onus on the refs to not be so lax about it.
he has worked with fergie and shd be exposed to what tactics coaches use even before the opening whistle. why doesnt he do this?
hell, his own compatriot is a master of making a bloody mountain out of a non-existent mole-hill (moan-rinho) even when he has no case. CQ, by jove, HAS plenty of cases and cause to say all this! and yet .... !
we paid the price for a complete professional and european experience. but in return we've got only slightly more than half of the deal from CQ!!!
come on man.
