What especially disappoints me is that again Nekounam didn't defend well, didn't mark Antar and totally misjudged the cross. The goal is mainly his fault and it's not the first time this happens.

I think for us Ideal is for now to qualify and be part of elites for the festival of the bests.
There are a lot to gain just by qualifying , for the Football as a whole , for chances given to next generation of footballers, for the fan and even business.

considering positive and negatives ( even losing bad to better and respectable team than Lebanon ) it is wonderful to qualify.

st-mark brought up some alternatives (earlier I said I refuse to call 23- 24 year olds "youngsters". and I will try to remember this) who are worthy of a look.

CQ has shown at this stage he won't risk on young IPL players but he is comfortable with young foreign based players.

Base on games i have watched some of IPL young players deserve TM more than watchers & walkers players we saw today.

Yaghoob Karimi, Sadeghian can contribute more than even Karimi if He is not at his best and not effective.
Jahanbaghsh, Shiri... are much effective than confused Ansarifard.
Bakhtiar run , fight for possession, distribute more than Shojaei of today and all TM MF starters.

When experienced players don't produce , best is to give chance to younger more energetic and hungry players.

exactly what I'm talking about.
lets not pick only today's disaster, but the past 4-5 TM games or more. even in those games we say "oh karimi dribbled two guys and sent a nice pass" or "nekounam had a great shot/header at the goal" or "nouri ran and ran" or ... etc and then use these few and far in between instances as justification for their STARTING position at TM (I'm not even saying lets drop them). but for every one of these good instances they have about 85 minutes of poor displays.

but if we put our trust in at least 1-2 younger, more eager and hungry players, I'm willing to bet they will have MORE instances in one game to help the team, help with the momentum and pace, even have bigger and more effective influence on the overall performance and results perhaps.

here we are trying to satisfy ourselves with a mediocre (lets say grade 6 or even 5) performance from BIG NAME STARS. But we might be missing grade 7 or more performances from the more energetic and hungry alternatives. performances that could reflect in the results and scorelines too.
why do we resist this?
