FIRST HALF:
When you play s deep inside your half, you’re ALLOWING the opponent to dominate you. It’s not so much that we are inferior or they are superior. It’s basically spineless strategy by coaches.
Unless you’re playing an opponent waaaaay above your standards, something is wrong with your strategies when 60% of your passes are between your 4 defenders and about 80% between these 4 and the 2 def-mids!
When you have only one striker who is always left alone against 2 or 3 defenders, then you are a fool to expect him to receive any balls. And it is even more moronic if in such a case you hoof the ball from defense, trying to feed your lone striker. No wonder we don’t score too many and our strikers are the most jobless in TM games. Because they are always stranded up field away from the bulk of the team. Moronic defensive football!
It pains me to see the opponents easily pass inside our half and carry the ball from their defense to mid to forwards. But when it comes to us, we want to hoof it and totally take midfield out. Why? Doesn’t CQ trust our midfielders?
And because we take out our midfield, it is no wonder our moves look so haphazard and clueless, mostly based on individuals’ skills than anything else.
- Why is this guy khanzadeh even there? I cant think of any reason BUT being in pp. he hasn’t done anything to justify him wearing Iran’s jersey.
- I am still not convinced with nazari. I mean I haven’t seen anything stellar from the lad.
- It is such a relief and pleasant change to see our keeper come out to collect balls outside his 6 yard box.

SECOND HALF:
Nazari, so far in his past 3-4 TM games has shown very average. Scores about 5 or at best 6 (out of 10). So my question is why is he a regular staple at TM rosters but lads like Ebrahimi aren’t even called up, despite showing far superior performances at sepahan? Is it not yet another name-based pick SOLELY based on the country he plays in and nothing more?
I’m not saying let stop calling him. He’s young and has potential. But at the moment we have quite a few other players who have better quality than him who are continuously neglected (ebrahimi, milad nouri, mosalman, …)
I must ask a similar question about omid namazi as CQ’s assistant. What has he done to be added to a national team? What are his achievements? Qualifications? Is it not mainly because he can speak English? Isn’t a light bench one of the reasons for CQ’s lack of accountability and sense of entitlement/superiority towards our football?
Why do we reduce the value of our national team (bench and jersey) with such selections? Shouldn’t people EARN it and show superior qualifications to justify being in a national team? Be ghole yek pishkesvat, “pirahan TM ro be moft nafrooshim va bi arzesh nakonim”.
The team slowly became a bit more competitive with Ebrahimi’s inclusion. Perhaps we needed extra muscle down in the middle. His passes also were quite nice. Which makes him sitting on the bench even more of a question.
a draw was fair and hopefully the team will gel more and be able to defeat bahrain and yemen to advance
