    Dedication & professionalism

just a question to F+ members since mostly are mature members who most probably are a part of the work force in their daily life and some may be employers even.

irrespective of you being an employer or an employee, consider the following situation and give your opinion with respect to the matter of "dedication to the job":

It's just another day at the job (lets say it's a 9-5 kind of job. But this 9 to 5 does not mean it is restricted to the "hours present at a certain place"). clock strikes 5 PM and unfortunately, a slight glitch (lets say a cracked filling, to put it in simple terms) has occurred with one of the patients that may need a little extra attention.
assistant A drops what he/she's doing, gets us and leaves the office for home. within his rights as he/she gets paid only up to 5 PM.
assistant B doesnt drop everything and stays behind for a while trying to get a few things in order or try a couple of solutions to rectify the filling and sees that the work is done before he leaves.

To you, as an employer which person has shown dedication and professionalism to convey that he/che cares about what he does and what happens to the patient or the office's standing?

    Obviously, assistant that stayed.

But if you are reaching CQ's case, then the example does not apply. Here is a more fit version of your example:

If your office a/c is out and is summer time. If you are treating your employees and assistants badly. If due to type of your service (bad, low quality), you mainly attract "foul" people with rude manners. And, if your assistant does have sub assistant that can take care of the last minute "minor" trouble.

Then, it is perfectly "understandable" that he won't stay after 5, as the environment you are setting requires him to take a break whenever he can, also knowing his lower paid sub assistant can take care of that "minor" trouble, and he'll be back tomorrow for more serious work.

    Hope this help. Mokhlesim.
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.
    Go IRAN!

if that assistant knew my office was that crappy and low grade with so little comforts and facilities and STILL AGREED TO TAKE THE JOB, then he/she has no excuse
as they say, he/she knew what they're getting into.

Besides, this is not a routine situation and he/she is not asked to remain after 5 pm EVERYDAY. as were the losses to lebanon and uzbekistan, this is one of those one-off situations (sort of an emergency) where a little professionalism is required even at the cost of a few minutes or half an hour extra.
especially when this assistant comes with a high price tag boasting training in a well reputed college. and is always running his mouth about "professionalism, basic set up of the clinic, ... blah blah blah". then you'd expect that much professionalism from such a "efadehei" assistant

frankly, such an assistant, I will tell him/her to wash the instruments & units TWICE after the hours, to know professionalism is not only restricted to the wages and words. but behavior and attitude also.

of course, if she looked like this: , then I might just go easy on her a bit.

But when we have a "narreh khar-e sibil koloft" like this: , then .... errr.... not so much

We have often had discussions here on this forum about " What kind of coach is good for TM "....forign, domestic,etc,etc...
            .....
it is apparant, what we in IRAN want from a TM coach, has very little to do with what " Good forign coaches " can do......those faimouse forign coaches never became faimouse for solving the problems we want them to solve in IRAN.....and our problems are of a different kinds.....
It is a mistake to hire any forign coach...unless that coach has different kind of qualifications other than " Football " qualifications..

^ very true. Iran has its own characteristics and specific problems. just like any other nation, but with the added layers of extreme corruption and negligence that may not be present in most other countries.
Therefore, just because X has been successful in another country and football, it does not guarantee his success in ours. We could see more success in someone who may not be as famous or with brilliant resume in a top footballing nation, but with enough vision and intelligence to recognize our football with all its strengths and weaknesses and most importantly, CARES ENOUGH to make that effort (I accept it might be a bit of an extraordinary effort) then make a success of it.
And I dont care if this person is a foregner or Iranian. Just as long as he first recognizes all the factors and then goes about his business
