I doubt our players need someone to motivate them.

If they fail to understand that they need to fight like there is no tomorrow, then they should not be there in the first place.

Besides, you dont taunt a lion when you wanna fight him in HIS cage.

I would have agreed with CQ reaction had the game been in Tehran.

^ I actually think CQ's reply was fantastic and spot on. timely and in correct measure.
hardly inappropriate if you consider choi's silly remarks, and absolutely not a concession.
certainly a good, juicy couter-slap to show we are no pushovers and can dish out as good as we recieve.

as for "motivating the koreans", I also doubt they need motivation as they are of a c0cky nature and having lost in tehran, they are already smarting. so no change here.

Also when defending a bit deeper Beikzadeh will be less vulnerable to speedy attackers.

I think those are the major reasons why he was worse against Lebanon than in Qatar and will be better again in Ulsan.

        true.
not to mention the dynamics of the lebanon game is very different from that of korea's.
against lebanon, almost all players had a confident mood and in plain terms, took it a bit easy. not reckless easy, but easier than usual with less focus on actual defensive duties. that's why we saw montazeri coming up to such extents.
so in such an atmosphere, a fullback may think he can come forward a bit more or play a more relaxed game as there wont be too much defensive work forced on him. basically less focus on defense.

But I doubt they would behave like this against korea. IF beikzadeh plays, he will be more vigilant and focused on defense than anything else. and will not be as complacent as he was vs. lebanon.

beikzadeh's advantage is his height which comes in handy when crosses come from the right flank.
for years we had this problem with short fullbacks who get outjumped easily on crosses. at least with him staying put, he will have a say on these crosses.

But I'd still rather see sadeghi on the left (with montazeri-hosseini in the middle) and a high energy hajsafi ahead of him, who can run back and forth between defense and attack, helping out both.

Korean coach is very smart. He was worried about the lower level of motivation and fire in his own players compared to Iran but now, after CQ reaction, he is sure to have a fired up Korean team
Korean coach is definitely trying to deflect pressure off of himself. He is hated by the Korean fans. Go to their forums. They pick apart the players he picks, his starters... usually Korean fans are very supportive. Not at all right now.

tactics are simple: play to win and do whatever is in your power to win, don't depend on the result of the uzbakistan match because you should always put your faith in yourself not the hope of a 3rd rate qatari team pulling off a miracle, be-omideh borde dar kore VIVA TM

Queiroz is also clearly aware of this and was very careful to try to distinguish his sentiments towards him and alienate the coach from the players and fans

Bad news is this shinwook chap (tall #18) is not suspended. Then we have to make special arrangements for him if he plays.
This is one player CQ must have special plans on nullifying as he is the korean go-to forward, who, thanks to his height, receives most pumped balls from the back and midfield, to either lay it up for players around him, or to hold the ball and do something else with it himself.

1- Put sadeghi as his shadow to make sure he doesnt easily meet and direct balls. Sadeghi must be very measured and careful in how he handles him, not to give a penalty, though.

2- also as he usually lays up the ball for runners coming from the middle, Ando (and nekounam) must be ready to run his arse off tracking any and all runners from the middle to make sure they dont receive these feeds, to either intercept them or make decision making difficult for them

The games South Korea has had, against uzbakistan and other,on the vidoes, should help CQ /Vingada alot,...I am confident they do a much better job together than what Ghotbi did.

AW: Iran in Seoul: Entering the Gates of Hell

Kim Shin Wook already started in Tehran and was controlled quite well, so it shows we already had and executed such a plan.

Looks like Iraq and Japan this week had its share of physical encounters.
hopefully Iran and South Korea will be a cleaner game despite its expected intensity.

We should learn something from Brazil... They destroyed Japan today in the Confederations Cup. It is good to see Japan on the receiving end of things for a change. They are always at the top of the food chain in Asia.

We must show them we are capeable of hurting them if they open up and attack and that we will punish them if they risk too much.

Also we must prove we are willing to break bones if necessary, a coach can do what he wants, his players won't be willing to get hurt or suspended for WC in return for a meaningless win if a draw and most likely even a loss means they are through anyhow.
As evil as the last sentence of yours sounds, its very true. The Korean players must be made afraid of ours. However TM must be careful not to give away any stupid fouls outside of (and of course inside) the penalty box. No cute runs in and all first balls must be won by TM.
The other thing is TM must play to the very last minute. Of course every team thinks that, but this Korean team has shown even when playing shitty they can pull one out of their ass in minute 97.
