    Makani Foulad

    Pouladi Perspolis Pouladi Perspolis
    Mahini Perspolis Mahini Perspoli s
    Hosseini Perspolis Hosseini Perspolis

    Ahmadi Sepahan Ahmadi Sepahan

    Sharifi Sepahan
    Ansarifard Tractor Ansarifard Tractor
    Khanzadeh Zobahan Khanzadeh Zobahan
    Hadadifar Zobahan Hadadifar Zobahan

As it stand, list consist 4 from Perspolis,4 from Esteghlal ,2 from Sepahan.
Foulad, Naft , Tractor, Zobahan all with one player.

Is it possible Colors were a consideration in inclusion of 1-2 players?
    Example

If Rahmani have been cut instead of Khalatbari , 5 players from Perspolis were in the list none from Best IPL team this year
What would have been reaction then?

In my views of games , I regard Bakhtiar Best MF in the list but I always believed he was not in CQ game plan and was forced to select him.

I think case of Ahmad might be the same. about 9 years ago in a post about Foulad , i suggested Montazeri for RB, Alnameh ( Est Ahwaz) Left back and Alavi as DM. Alavi made it and Injury ended his career , Montazeri made it early but Alnemeh had to wait longer.

I thought BR will make it but did not think with CQ.

^ Isn't Ando from Esteghlal? Also I would really count Nekounam and Montazeri as Esteghlali too: They have been separated from the team only for less than a year.

It I were CQ, I would have dropped Pouladi and kept Khalatbari.

i do not believe the colors had anything to do with CQs selection but I have my suspicions about Nekonam's influence.

There is widespread rumor than Nekonam has a great control over TM and CQ (something like Daie's control over Branko) and that is the main reason why players like Karimi were sidelines.

Let's not even go there, please keep hashieh completely away. I am still hurting from 2006 with Daie-Karimi story. Channel that energy into something positive and productive. For example I want to know more details about each Nigerian player and their strengths/weaknesses.

Of course there are rumors. There always has to be some rumor against the Team Melli captain (whether it be Daei or Nekounam). Again, much of these rumors start in the Karimi and Persepolis fan base and start spreading like wildfire. When players like Rahmati come on TV and have a two-hour special and lie through their teeth, it only shows that they're trying to save face and that the fault was indeed with them.

Karimi, for the 3rd or 4th time, retired before the final qualification matches and then made himself 'available' following those matches. Just going through the kind rubbish people post against Nekounam, Queiroz, and others on facebook, you would think that Team Melli belongs to Karimi.

As Queiroz once said about Ronaldo, "Portugal have a national team called Cristiano Ronaldo and a group of players who run after him." It seems that Team Melli must be the same in their treatment of Karimi to keep the fans satisfied.

Queiroz is a professional and acts accordingly. All his exclusions have been justified as well as his inclusions. You summed his game-plan up perfectly on the previous page.

So I guess we have our starting lineup for Nigeria:

Haghighi - Montazeri, Hosseini, Sadeghi, Beikzadeh/Pouladi - Teymourian, Nekounam - Heydari, Dejagah, Hajsafi - Ghoochannejhad

That makes Ansarifard, Jahanbakhsh and Shojaei, maybe also Rahmani, the offensive options to react to different game situations.

Bringing on a more offensive rightback would also be a tool.

^ I could live with that starting line up.
I'd still say Ahmadi would be a better option in a high tension situation judging from our final three qualifiers and the fact that haghighi just isn't tested.
But hajsafi on the left instead of shojaei? Absolutely two thumbs up

I still dont get what Heydari doing in the starting lineup. other than him, its a solid starting lineup.

Jahanbakhsh, Ansarifard could be impact subs.

                      Shojaie, shouldnt even play

This might still not be the fixed line up. Although it is very likely since it was behind closed doors.
CQ might change few spots for Argentina game as a surprise also... lets see.

to say the least, I am very excited.

btw.. I interpret this line up as a defensive 4-4-2..!!!similar to Dino Zoff's Italy in Euro 2000.
since to me both Khosrow Heydari and Hajsafei are defensive midfielders (both ex defenders in AC 2011)!
So, CQ is going even more defensive instead of 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2 with all DM half backs.
                          so, we have something like:

                          -----------GK---------
                          -RB----CB----CB---LB-
                          -----CDM---CDM-----
                          --LM-------------RM--
                          --------FW------------
                          -----------CFW--------

(FW = Ashkan, CFW = Gucci)

and now his concept DOES make sense to me...
                          During defence:
while ANDO and NEKUNAM are clearing the centeral defence, CQ needs fast running horses on both wings, who can run back to defend, both Hajsafei aand Heydari can fulfill this role prefectly!
                          During offence:
Either Nekunam or Ando will push forward to support Dejgah and Gucci while Heydari and Hajsafei will push forward on the wings.

That explains why CQ did 3 time in 3 camps (S Africa, Austria, Corinthians Club) heavy running and physical training. He needs runners with stamina!
                          thats also explains the roster.

reminds me of German coaches saying, Dont worry when you play stronger teams, every human can run and fight; what you cannot do technically, you can make up by running and fighting

Martin's line up is the classic 4231. Except the fact that RGN isn't the striker for a lone forward line up.
It simply can't be a 433 as we'd be lagging in the left flank in midfield.
Dejagah beside RGN (442) as strikers also just doesn't seem right.

well, everybody has a different understanding, and game reading of football.

besides I never said in my post that Dejagah plays next to Gucci, I clearly showed it in my interpreted line up.

                                ^ jolly good, mate.
As long as shojaei isn't given the opportunity to waste 70+ minutes of our precious time, and gifting turnovers as if it's going out of fashion, i'll be fine.
