I would like the Bosnian coach, Susic. Their team played well during this WC and I was impressed by their structure.

He's quit the Bosnian team, so I think he would be an interesting option.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

Oscar Tabarez of Uruguay might be available after today... Not sure though if he'll be cheap.

Besides his one-dimensional, overly cautious playing preferences Carlos is the absolute Perfect boss for us on so many other levels, especially when it comes to professionalism, discipline, thorough Organiation, thoughtful & meticulous Long Term planning & pure Diplomatic savvy to deal head-on with mullahs & political bastards in order to achieve what our football requires from the the corrupt system overseeing it..!
I'm afraid that sheroud Diplomatic skills, are what's most feared by the establishment mullahs standing in his way of retaining his job, along with his expensive asking price ..!

As much as I dislike to watch his brand of football, I do hope he could somehow manage to muscle his way back into the TM hot seat, if for nothing else, for sake of continuity & stability ..!

I think IFF should meet his demand$ but add Further Administrative Responsibilities & work-hours to his current responsibilities to make up for it ..!

^ You just described the perfect ''right hand man''. Which I have no doubts he is.

Leaving out team tactics, strategy, roster selection, ... which is the pervue of the head coach, CQ is what just about ANY head coach in the world would love to have. To prepare the team, discipline them, get them fit and ready for a campaign.

Until here, CQ is right on the money.

The problem starts when we enter the duties of the ''head coach''. It is here where CQ showed weakness, inefficiency and mistakes even.
          - Player selection
          - Team tactics and strategy
          - Game strategy, both before and during the game , like game reading

            It is very true.
Before putting CQ at the top of our priorities as some fans seem to do, we must put Iran and TM as our top priority.
And before anything else, we need someone who believes in us and our abilities to go all the way.
Remember when some of us picked his ''charades'' or flag waving and asking a bunch of children shout ''Iran, Iran''?
Just doesn't sit well with his condescending tone, degrading attitude towards our football and belittling of our potential. That too in front of the world.

We need someone who truly believes in us. Not by waving a plastic flag on a TV show. But through his actions and words. Only this will put the self belief into our boys.
Having small dreams and small expectations will almost always end up in failure.
And we can't afford to fail in the Asia cup.

              A False Prophet

              CQ has been:
3 years in Iran as a coach.
Received highest pay given to any coach ever in Iran.
Received best of IFF, even with ridicules demands.
Had freedom to hire International assistants as much as he demanded.

But, He failed to offer anything better than before.
His team play ugly, his tactics cowardice and uninspirational.

He is a failure, and his contract should not be extended even with discount rate.
He has offered nothing meaningful and will have nothing to offer more.

If an Iranian coach has done what he did against Bosnia, most important game for Iran, he would have not welcome back to Iran and for rest of his life would not have been forgiven.

Waste of Time & Money with CQ.

                AW: Possible successors to Queiroz

No Iranian amateur coach would even have had a deciding game versus Bosnia let alone qualified for World Cup. Our coaches suck. That's why our players aren't on the level they should be and our league sucks.

That is the most single important issue, in our football....
                  If P ..then Q...then R...simple Mathematics..
If our coaches have no knowledge......then they can not teach anything.....then our football suck.....
( it is no wonger, our players, from thier youth up to thier retirements, never add anything to thier knowldege of football...all they play with, is the knowledge of football from streets )....nobody, realy improves in our football).

Man, you must feel so ''progressive and hip'' now, don't you?

I think it must really feel miserable and you must be in excruciating pain when you watch Iranian football and its players, huh?
I mean with such low opinion and terrible view of our football, I wonder just why would you subject yourself to the torture of watching a bunch of no good, no talent, useless Iranians make fools of themselves pretending to play the sport of football?

I mean if I thought so badly and so lowly of something, i'd be stupid to waste a minute of my time on it.

                        @ yashar

True, Some comments are made in hindsight.
But some are not. Some were predicted away before the games even started. Based on frankly very obvious, crystal clear trends and presentations. And yet, we saw those mistakes being made!

It is not on hindsight that some say shojaei shd not have been used. especially in starting line UPS. It is t hindsight when we say he is extremely error prone with dangerously high turnover rate. We didn't have to wait to see his f**k up that led to Bosnia's first goal to say this. We didn't have to wait for his numb dribbling idiocy that in 90% of occasions failed and lost possession. We didn't have to wait to see his slow, lethargic performance.

We also didn't have to wait for lack of pace up front to say Khalatbari shd have been there and could have been very vital in our counters.

And a few other issues like CQ's lack of ''plan B'' or what would he do if we conceded an early goal, or ... .

all this was discussed way before the games. And lo and behold ... they all came true!

The key to CQ's fans is not to blindly defend blindly and fanatically oppose anything that's said ... defending one individual to the extent that now, Iran has been reduced to totally shit . All becoz we want to defend a guy who looks down on us and belittles us!(wow. Talk about inferiority complex!)
That only encourages more people to bring up more and more failures and mistakes and dogmatic behavior/comment of his.

Besides, one thing you all forget is the point in paying an unprecedented amount of money to bring a top foreign coach (whose salary is many folds of the MUCH MORE SUCCESSFUL coaches in the WC) is to make sure we don't have regrets or end up saying '' he shd have and could have'' after a campaign.
                          Isn't it?

If we are destined to continue to say ''the coach shd have and could have ...'' after a tournament, then WHY ON EARTH ARE WE THROWING AWAY OUR MONEY? Our own crummy vatani bums also will provide us enough ''shd have, could have'' post tournament discussion.

                          Anyone knows why?

Doki, Martin follows Iranian football because he loves our country as much as you do hopefully and like everyone else he recognized so much potential if only the right people are installed in our football business! Simple as that....

Watching Iranian football has always been a relationship of love and hate. So many people congratulated me for Iran's performance and they were amazed by the ability to defend so heroically and to produce good counter-attacks.... Japan has been trashed, SKorea was shit at the World Cup, Australia were unlucky with the group and therefore have been trashed too.

You guys simply forget what "experts" and football fans thought of Iran.... A bunch of Arab tapeworms from the desert.... Well we enlightened their minds...

In 2006 we just got a 1-1 against Angola (excuse me who??), we lost against Portugal and against Mexico mainly because of blunders in the defense. Nigeria was clinically depressed after the tie against us and Argentina's Messi pooped in his pants for more than 90 minutes... What else do you want???

But as always I really like your opinions, they sometimes change directions like the wind and they are truely entertaining... so pls keep going..

I don't doubt he loves Iran. Hell, in fact he loves it way too much to subject himself to the torture of watching its useless, talent-less football. You've got to really love something to not allow its misery dissuade you from supporting it. Nevertheless, despite all the love, he views it as such low quality that's borderline painful!!!
