    I feel bad for Daei!!!

His name is all over the media, there were some people protesting against him outside of the hotel, all media mentioning his name, this is not only Persian media, it's global.

What happened to our hero? Who was the icon of Iranian or even Asian football? Was it worth being 90 minutes in world cup?

Now he misses the next game!!!! for what? How he got injured it's a mystery, anyhow no one misses him for the next game. What a tragic good bye for a hero. It was our fault to let our hero falls. We shouldn't let him fall, we need some warning alarm. Be careful about Karimi, Kia, Hashemian,..., when it's time to say "good bye", please don't bring their past to justify them. Let them say good bye standing up.

    Learn the lesson.

Branko dragged his name through the mud yesterday through his decisions. Some blaim must go to Daei himself for selfishly agreeing to play when he knew he could not benifit the team. He should have taken himself out of the game just as Borgetti did. Then he would have saved some respect for himself.
The REAL. The LEGEND. Since 2001.

      No Haji Joon
This one is on Daei and Daei alone. He is just one more Iranian abusing a system of caos that akhoonds have created in Iran. He is just too visible.

Iran's FIFA World Cup™ hopes received another blow on Monday when it was revealed that captain and top-scorer Ali Daei would miss the Portugal match with a back problem.

          A LESSON IN LIFE:

Daei turned from the greatest hero (6-2 v sk, 1996) to the greatest villain IN THE HISTORY OF IRANIAN FOOTBALL.

it was SAAD walking past every single iranian in the match yesterday calling him names.

He is a very confident man, and I'm sure he won't take that to heart. But he should fear for his safety and life as there is a great deal of hatred for him now, a lot of iranians saying things....

Such a shame, daei joon why didnt you retire and use your talents as a coach....

But you are a selfish, selfish man who wanted to tell your grandchild you captained your team in the world cup.

Selfish man who has been holding the team to ransom for the last 6 years.

Selfish man supported by BOT-PARASTS on certain sites who kept defending you and saying crap like "there is no one better" etc... WHEN NO ONE ELSE WAS GIVEN A CHANCE IE MORE THAN 3 GAMES IN THE STARTING POSITION!!!!!!

EVERY TIME I MENTIONED THIS TO MARTIN-REZA HE PALMED THIS OFF WITH TRIPE LOGIC.

And martin-reza ALWAYS had things to say when we said daei's consistent presence was STIFLING DEVELOPMENT OF YOUNGER PLAYERS who need to be given SUSTAINED CHANCES TO DEVELOP AND MATURE AS PLAYERS.

but talking to martin-reza was often like talking to a wall. He just palmed it off with responses which made no sense.

and this attitude is the same throughout the camp, throughout the kind of people who want to worship INDIVIDUALS, not the TEAM.

A truly sad ending, I agree.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

                  Blind, truly blind.

Karimi = injured before the game. went off even more injured

nekounam = fine off-the-ball play and together with ando, fine shielding of the defence. whereas daei was stationary the WHOLE Match.

                  were you at the stadium?

Its not like he doesnt deserve this. He is both c.ocky and selfish. He made it this way. He could have left two years ago, but he decided to stay. Its not like he was innocent.

Im actually glad this happened. He was my hero, everybodys hero, now everybody hates him. He had to learn his lesson. You cant just do whatever you want.

I agree with you Haji jan. He should have retired at least after China.
But even though I feel sorry for him, I think he deserves all of it (apart from the petition).

Well, he is the only responsable for this situation.

I never feel bad for him.

Although he was our best footballer ever, he made millions of Iranians cry just for his personal benefits.

If it's true that Branko still sees something in him as our 'best' striker (as he claims Daei is), and truly thinks he needs him is his strategy (even tho it's clear that a player like daei is completey useless in a defending 4-2-3-1 formation), then it's not Daei's fault imo, but Branko's.

If I was a player and wanted to stop football, and muy coach asked me to stay cause he believes I'm still a big help for the team and his strategies, then probably I'd stay as well.

But deeply I believe that Branko himself knows how useless Daei's become, but for some reason he just can't put him aside...

what do you guys mean by sad ending? Daei is not done yet. You will see him again in team melli shirt. Maybe not in the world cup (hopefully not) but against maldives or laos, so that he could score another 10 goals.
